I have an adventure race this weekend so no work is getting done to the jeep HOWEVER i do have my "big brother"(greek system) in town to be my team partner! He is a grad student who is now going to stanford but used to go to NMSU. We are crazy alike in the out doors aspect So he flew in from NM last night.

and just because i like pictures...

hahaha yeah i painted the trim pieces

and today i got my friend to help me put my jeep together!!!! =]

it looks really good! but i have the wierdest battery drain issue...

it will be completely fine for hours and hours and without me moving it or touching it within like 30 minutes it will be at nine volts....

seriously so wierd....

i am going to pull my amp wire and if it still does it then i will pull my acc wire and my amp wire and if it still does it then i will start pulling fuses one by one until i figure out what is causing the drain. I had the battery out and took it in and it tested fine... who knows

I hate those electrical gremlins. Mine has a few of them. Anyway the paint looks SWEET I want to re paint mine here in a while. I really like everything you have done to with the exception of the tinted tail lights. In fact I even like the tinted sidemarkers even though I usually dont like those. But seriously awesome job on the paint and everything really.

okay so i have sad news =[

i got a bad alt.... The bearings are going out..... how i determined that you ask?

well i started her up got a LOUD squeal! very very loud squeal! And then the minute i let off the gas backing up out of my driveway the electronics flickered off due to not enough voltage (10volts) and once the squeal was gone i got my 13 volts back.

so time to search the JY for a dodge 160 amp. i have the 136 zj alt right now.

It was requested that i show how i did the hood spacers and if it cooled did its job.

It does a great job of cooling the engine! There is one downside to it however. And that is if you get in a front end crash it will not kink the hood like it was factory designed and has the possibility of coming thru the windshield. However, It would have to rip the bolts out of the metal before that happened.

I used a 1" steel spacer and longer grade 5 bolts. just make sure you used your factory shims still. I was able to do it by myself in about 30 minutes with 2 hardware store trips.

Thats awesome! I have two spacers just like that sitting around so all Ill need is two more. I also have an aluminum blowgun body, I wonder if thatll hold up, I can just cut the spacers down to size. What do you think?

Hello friend, a question, apart from the dividers, what another modification did you need to do?

To open the hood, had you what to modify something?

thank you and regards from Venezuela
