How... did... you... do... this?? lol I've been wanting to take out my A/C compressor as I have a leak somewhere and don't want to diagnose where it is. My concern was if I need to run a new serpentine belt. Do you have or know of a write-up for how to do the Alternator relocation?

Sounds weak, but its holding over a year now!
Once you start tearing into it, it will become apparent how it all goes back together. NAXJA forum has a few of these write-ups.
Yes the belt is different now, its napa part #060760.
I'll try and get some better pics of the backside up later.

Well I basically used the old bracket piece, and reversed it, found a bolt that worked, and drilled out the hole on the bottom end of the alt to a larger diameter. I then used an old lug nut for a spacer on the other end. Also made a bracket for the front

Its pretty simple really, and I wish it looked more "pro" but its holding well, and keeps the Alt out of mud and water.

Nice build man. I like that you put a mixture of bought and made/fab'd parts.
I may have missed it but what did you do for front axles? Oh, and I am going to use your MOOG tie rod end on the RE track bar I just ordered too.

Well for awhile now, I've noticed that my swaybar disconnects were rubbing the coil springs so it was time for another solution!
After cutting about 3" off the swaybar ends, (this moves the new mount point forward)
I then welded the RC disco brackets directly to the bar.
(I also welded on the backside for more strength, there is a slot there)

The one on the driver side ended up cattywampus, but its just a tight fit now no big deal.

And there we go, no more clearance issues:

I would recommend some magnets to help hold stuff like this before burning it in, and lay it out on a flat surface so you can see what your doing.
this is so it doesn't get all sideways. I didn't have anything, and was in a hurry so I just "eyeballed" it.

i like this mod, i was thinking of shortening my sway bar end links, or moving it forward and redrilling mounts for it, now i will take care of that. mine touches my springs to. did you notice any on road difference?

If anything it got better, because those brackets aren't loosening up any more. new urethane bushings for the bar would make it even tighter I imagine.

The moog part works, however it does not allow the full travel/droop that the heim joint provides. I may try the heim next.

Do you thnk it is worth drilling out the hole for the heim joint that come with the RE Track Bar? Then, there you are, married to RE. I guess it could be worse.

lol
