Rustys is a good route. The rusty springs on my dads jeep seem a bigger diameter so the rotated and hit the axle off the perch. We fixed that by welding a stopper on the front of the perch. Not a big deal.

I really need to do this without welding. I like the rusty's kits & they are reasonably priced with new leafs.

They may be just on the 8.5" springs. You could ask others who have rusty's kits.

Ok, will do....

Anyone else install the 4.5" rusty's kit? Did you have a problem with fitting the springs?

Tires are taken care of. My brother in law is upgrading to 35's and giving me his 33's for free!
Gunna order wheels from summit soon.

Mine went on with out a any problem I have not noticed the doing that. How ever you might have to cut your fender out a little if your gonna run 33's.....i'm running 31x10.50's so it has room to flex. Rustys says with I think that with that lift and 33 it might need trimming but I could be thinking of a diff lift of theres

Yes usually you'd have to trim but to where you were thinking of being on the street more you may not have to

I'm not opposed to trimming a little bit. I don't think it would be a good idea to go hog wild though...lol
I'd have to figure out the fender laws in my state though.
Do you think I'd have to do front and rear? Or just front?

With trimming you could probably get away with none in the back bump stops in the front and a little trimming. You would just have to search for a trimming how to where they keep the stock flares it looks real clean

Billie will not be getting built up by me, I'm looking for a different XJ or maybe a ZJ that will get built. After that I'll sell Billie to someone who wants to build an off road toy. He's not a long term DD candidate.

The damage in the rear is a lot worse than we thought... Not insane, but worse than we want to deal with. The "frame" is crushed about 1"... That's why the rear hatch won't seal.... Add to that. I hate the dang sunroof.... It's better off in someone else's hands that wants to build a toy. Or isn't as picky as my wife.... Lol
My wife has me looking for a ZJ now.....
