I have a laptop and 2 PC's..... You come get my wife and mother in law off of them and I'd be happy to use them.....

You have a decent front axle I kind of wish I had it for gas mileage reasons. You have a high pinion Dana 30 with a disconnect axle shaft. Get your self a cable lock on the disconnect shaft and you won't have problems with your 4wd engaging

I haven't had any issues since I learned how to use it...lol
This whole shift on the fly stuff was new to me. I've put it in and taken it out probably 20 times since I had the issues the first time a couple weeks ago.
If I have issues in the future I'll look into it.

Just for curiosity sake....
What would the best axle combo be for me?
88 XJ I6 auto NP242 4-5" lift on 33's?
Not Gunna do anything crazy... Will still be road driven a lot.... Mostly playin in the mud. No major crawling or amything

After talking with some buddies I've been wondering....
Why not go for a Dana 44 rear?... And what rigs are they most common on? What gear ratio should I look for if I'm Gunna run 33's and drive on the road some?
Just in case you're thinking i'm putting the cart before the horse... I only want to rip into my rear axle/suspension once.

A Chrysler 8.25 29 spline is Comparable to a 44 but with c clips I believe 1 spline smaller but the axle tubes are bigger they are easier to find (most 97-01 xj's have them) I think it has a bigger ring gear too.
A Chrysler 8.25 27 spline is well 2 splines smaller more neck down on the shaft but a larger ring gear and axle tubes. They are also really easy to find in a junk yard (not to many 97-01's around here in the yards)
I would recommend you try to find a 8.25 29 spline get an Aussie locker and convert to rear disc brakes grind down the ears on the pumpkin with a diff guard and fabricate your self a pinion yoke skid. You won't break this on 33's unless your being stupid. And not to mention 8.25 parts are easier to find incase you did break something

I think he must have been confused... He mentioned that it came off of a late 90's cherokee... Is it on the grand Cherokee?
I found a grand Cherokee with no motor, trans, or TC that I can get for $100.... Might check it out.. I think he said it was a 1999.

No, this is a grand that I ran into down the street. I have no idea what it has. I was asking if the grands have the 8.25.

Back to my lift plans.... I'll end up with an 8.25 rear... It's not on the parts jeep so I'll keep looking.
I have most if the lift figured out. Here's what I have so far: (I'll edit as I go along ang get stuff nailed down including part #'s)
Rubicon express 4.5 lift coils (RE1310)
Pro comp 5" lift shocks (fr & rear)
Extended Sway bar links
Track bar
1" TC drop
Rear lift shackles
Bastard pack (s-10 or Dakota)
New u bolts
8.25 rear end
Extended brake lines (fr & rear)
15x8 black wheels (backspacing???)
33x12.50x15 tires
Do I need these things?
Drop pitman arm
Or is there anything else I'm missing?
