Marty or Jeff..
The Rubicon Express springs. Are those the name of the springs themselves or the Model Jeep to get them from? And, I just assume that at 7" they are an upgrade for THAT vehicle?
Also, is there a 4" or 5" lift spring with a higher rate for the front instead of going with a 7" lift one?
And, how much more cost is it for the 7"?
I'm getting to the point in life where I only want to get in there and do it once or twice.
Just thinking of doing the fine tuning for 4-6x already makes my back hurt.
I was trying to get a pair of grand cherokee springs out at a pull-it, and fought with them for an hour or so and still didn't get them. (yes, I did pull that 1/2" hold down bolt)
I have a few pairs of older 60's Chevy car springs laying around that are almost doubled in thickness..(?)
but look to be the same diameter.
In the threads of because-racejeep it looks like there is only a couple inches of suspension travel.
And it states that they are street driven, so do you guys bottom out on the strike-out bumpers all the time?
We don't have tons of pot holes here, but there are quick dips in the roads and hwys that at speed, can cause severe bump steer.
I plan on a small ci V8 swap, so there is going to be a difference in weight up front.
Just hope the nv3550's shifter is in the same space..

As for up travel... I have about 1" of up travel with relatively stiff bilstein shocks. No clue what my down travel is, but the rear is probably around 2-3" depending on how the suspension is loaded and the front is about 6"+ of down travel because the only thing limiting it is the swaybar links binding/reaching limit of extension. In hindsight, I should probably put some limit straps on it.
And as for bumpsteer... When you lower these things, the trackbar and drag link become very parallel with the ground. I have zero bumpsteer whatsoever. Even when hitting hard bumps or big dips.

As previously stated, the point in the lift springs are to just get a cheap way of upping spring rate, they are still cut for the right height. With the right diameter any spring will work, but when trying to avoid paying extra for custom parts there is gonna be some "fine tuning"
I also don't have any bump steer issues, but I'm not even lowered. Stock ride height, just stiffer rear, upgraded sway bars, and everything else new. I do have limiting "straps" but honestly I don't think they do anything but add noise when driving on the street. I have them to keep my mid one second launches under control.

Thank you for responding.
Got under there, and man, what a strange shape r-swaybar.
Where can an aftermarket one be sourced?
Can one come from another Jeep?
I've got some older Honda civic torsion bars that I wanted to make into some kind of roll-control apparatus.. (instead of a swaybar, the end link would go up to the end of torsion bar 'arm'. Of course, the other end would be fixed)
If the unibody 'frame or chanel' is straight in that area, It would be cool to put it inside, and just have the arm and link inboard.
Read it in SuperChevy or Chevy High Performance back in the day. The torsion bars were in the trunk (parallel w/trunk floor) out of sight and just had the links sticking down to the axle brackets.

Sir, This may help you if you haven't gotten those other springs you told me of.
Have tons of car stuff laying around and found a pair of GM springs either from a 66 impala or a 72 Monte Carlo that I swapped in BB springs.
They 'flatten' on top and seem to have the same coil pitch, but not the same locating curl(?) up top.
BUT, are about double the thickness.
This is what I'm going to try, since I already have them. (but I did already cut the stock
4cyl, 5spd, 2wd, air cond spring about 90% since I couldn't get the grinder wheel in there easily)
Hope this helps you or others.

You can see the white dots painted on the 3" coils, we cut 4 complete coils off to start.
We fitted them, ran them for a week to settle and them trimmed 1/4-1/2 coil at a time and refitted and tried them as we dialed in the height we wanted. Not really a one size fits all. These were new RE 3" coils. We used the dots for reference so we knew where we were.

They are from Flex-Form. http://www.flex-form.com/products.asp
Stock XJ size.
I bought 2 sets, 1 new and 1 used to cut.
IDK if they can build a spring with 475lb/in spec.
We mount them upside down, with the arch 'frowning' not 'smiling' so to speak.

I wanted to try it, but the monoleafs worked so well that I never felt like taking the rear end apart

Hi so i just started a lowered jeep project about 2 months ago just got done installing 8.8 spring under with s10 springs was curious how much clearance you have to your bump stops and also currently my front is higher than the rear slightly trying to figure out how much lower i can go up front without haveing to change my control arm mounts so was wandering if you had pictures of your lower control arm angle
