now only if i could figure out how to get the harmonic balancer/pulley off so i can get the crank out. never rebuilt a car motor before, so im learning as i go.

meh. not looking 100% good. definite scars in the bearings due to the lifter collapsing and the camshaft is toast. crank isn't lookin 100% either. this may end up turning in to a stroker build.
made progress though, got the motor apart, lol. at this rate, itll be a year before i get her running

At least it won't have a years worth of miles and it would be a totally different beast if you made it a Stroker.
yea but dammit man. im ready to hit the northend! with a newborn, its hard to get time to get on it. im going to do a little cyphering and if things seems to be needing the crank turned, etc im going to get this 4.2 from a buddy at work for FREE and budget stroke it. wont cost me anymore to do that than to rebuild the 4.0 since the crank/rods are free.
i forgot i had a block from my 98 with a cracked head. i may pull it apart and see what it looks like, if all is well ill put it together with my 0331 head and save the money for a lift.
