Sorry guys! Lot of updates, but I'm one handed at the moment due to some stitches I got in my hand from being a dumb *** so typing a bunch with one hand doesn't seem like fun. Let me see if I can get some pictures uploaded at least. Dealing with a brake issue at the moment, so I haven't driven her much lately. My Android phone speedometer is working great though, and I cobbed some audio equipment to add a small sub. Total cost? $0
I will do a post about the phone at some point.
Darnit, I can't find my computer cable to hook my phone up to get pictures off. I will have to wait until later.

So my Jeep has been back on jack stands the last couple weeks. I was noticing during braking some feedback in the brake pedal. Put the Jeep up and pulled all the tires. Front brakes looked fine (even though they squeal, grrr) and the rear passenger brake looked fine. Got the drivers side rear brake off and immediately saw the issue. The pin that held the bracket for the parking brake came out and the pin and bracket were floating around inside the brake. In fact, I couldn't even identify the parts until I looked at the other side. The shoes were chewed up pretty bad, and the drum was pretty ugly looking too. I picked up new shoes and a hardware kit when I got paid and O'reilly turned the drum for $8 which was a lot cheaper than a new one.
I also wanted to get the track bar relocated finally so that's the main reason it's been parked, because like everything else on this Jeep, it is a rust nightmare.
I ended up taking my angle grinder to the passenger side of the track bar, I figured that a new bushing was only $15 or so, so I sacrificed it for the greater good. Looking online I noticed Rock Auto had a new track bar with bushing included for $20 so I just went that route, which it turns out was probably a good idea. Of course the nut holding the other end was so rusted that I couldn't even get a socket onto it, so out came the handy angle grinder again. I cut the track bar totally off and was making an attempt to pound the stud up through the bracket. I looked at the new one and realized that it was a tapered stud, so obviously it wasn't going to go that way. So I begrudgingly took the bracket off of the Jeep so I could attack it from the top. Using the angle grinder again I finally hacked the nut off but I couldn't for the life of my pound the stud back out. I even drilled a hole in the top of the bracket so I could get something onto the stud straight-on instead of an extreme angle. No joy.
Picked up a new can of MAP gas yesterday and brought the bracket to work this morning and we used the MAP torch and a propane torch to heat the bracket smokin' hot and a few sharp raps and the stud shot across the shop. After it cooled down I scraped a mess of rust off of it and painted it black. It's supposed to rain tonight, but if it doesn't I will try to get that put back together tonight.
