Go 3"..well worth it..and we were seeing gains on stock supra's...like thats a surprise lol! And the 3" will flow more than enough exhaust up to 600whp.
You have a flex pipe in there at some point right? Cheap insurance cause that ***** will get hot and wanna move..without the flex pipe you max crack the exhaust/downpipe!

yea! couldn't get it to spool good, tried it without the ghetto paper air filter, and boom! making 8psi of boost now!!!installed the boost gauge and made a support for the turbo. ordered a turbo rebuild kit because when i installed the turbo wrong the first time i damaged the oil seals, so it leaks a little oil and smokes. the kit was $40 so ill be able to swap seals in about an hour. also ordered a gm 2 bar map sensor and 30lb ford racing injectors off ebay!!!!! should be here this week

What turbo are you running? Have you looked into holsets? They are super cheap and everywhere!

I would look more into sizing...I'm sure they do, but heres just off he top of my head!
Those 5.9 cummins run up to what 4500rpms? And I believe they are running a HX35. I would look up a slightly smaller turbo and go with it! That way you can get your boost earlier in the rpm!
In a boosted XJ running up to 5000rpm I'd like to see full boost by 2500-2700rpm. That gives you roughly a strong 2000-2500rpm power band!
Plus if you offroad that smaller turbo will give you power where you need it! Down low!

thats what i figured when i bough this one, since it's pretty small it would spool fast. it spools at diffferent rpm's. like full spool in 4th is like 2k rpm's, and in 1 its like 4k rpm's

Nature of turboed cars! Basically in 4th gear at 2k rpm the jeeps under more load! Think of it this way...50% throttle in 1st gear vs 50% in 4th gear. You obviously will take of quicker in first..the turbo just doesn't spool quick enough to keep up...not only that but your aren't really needing full boost at 2k rpm in 1st gear lol.
The way we check spool was in your 1:1 gear or closest to it..get in your 1:1 or the closest to 1:1...I think with a 5speed trans your 1:1 gear is 4th gear...and with the auto its 3rd..I think, but look online and find out.
So get in 4th gear or whatever your 1:1 gear is, around 1k rpm and go WOT..find the rpm you get full boost at! That simple, and then you can say I get X amount of boost at X rpm.

A holset will last forever & are cheap to rebuild...if you really want the info I can find out a decent sized one..just let me know how you drive and where you want the power!

Most likely...heres what you should do and need to do! Also exactly what I'd do if I was in your position...its cheaper than another motor you know?
Get a wideband..I favor the AEM uego! You need it!!! I would get it before you do much driving, incase there is a lean condition!
Also look into the SAFC II, its roughly 200 bucks but you can tune your vehicle and watch whats going on in real time! I'll be using both of these for when my motors rebuilt! Or you could do an adjustable map sensor! SAFC II is just better!

You want something like mid 11 to low 12's ARF for turbo setups...the higher the number, the leaner it is! We tuned for 11.4-12.0 on pump gas...and like 11.8-12.8 on race gas!
What octane gas are you running now? If its anything under 91/93 then go a little richer, something like low 11's maybe even higher 10's. Probably like 10.2-11.2..keep it between those numbers!
I'd also look into some 24lbs ford injectors. Would be nice to have a little more fuel and a 4 hole injector vs the stupid stock 1 holes.

Have you ever looked into meth injection yet? So far ever turboed Jeep seems to have air intake temp issues! Meth or a intercooler would solve this problem! Higher intake temps = greater chance of detenation! I'd look into a simple meth kit, they go for about 200 bucks! It will cool your intake, produce more power & even steam clean your motor! We just run rubbing alcohol and it works great & is super cheap!
And meth usually last a long time! Say you set it to come on at 4psi...it won't ever come on unless you have 4+ psi of boost..as soon as you drop under 4psi it'll stop spraying..We were usually seeing 2 1/2 tanks of gas per tank of meth! And we were using our windsheild washer resivior to store the meth. 3 bottles of rubbing alcohol would fill it up..and that cost us like $2.97 for the alcohol lol! Its the cheapest perfect solution!

Did you run your turbo pipe under the oil pan as well?
