Thanks for updating this rex! Rolled the jeep out and had my buddy with a power washing company come by so I could hot steam clean everything. I don't think it's every been this clean.. Going to plate the steering box area more then hopefully put the engine in this weekend. Been way to lazy to do anything lately

I really doubt this piece of frame is going to give me anymore problems now.. It's now plated on all 4 sides with rossette welds all over. I'll be tapping my steering box tomorrow and mounting that back up getting ready for hydro. The more I look at this engine I bought for $180 the less I think it will run well, or even run at all but we'll see I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Drilled and tap my Durango box. Plugged the holes for now since I'm still about 2 weeks from having hydro. Hopefully the Durango box isn't horribly slow like people say. If so I'll buy another cherokee box but I'd rather not.. All I need to do now is change out my tranny mount and the engines ready to go in

Ew that thing is up high. Mine is a D&C B pillar hoop and the rest I just finished.
Tight as I got it after dealing with my bent drip rail thing.
Don't do a prebuilt kit... Build your own. I had a D&C cage it it didn't fit as well as Andy's T&J performance one. Very cramped.
I'll post in my build tonight.

Nice that's looking good I like where you're going with it. I won't be doing a pre-built cage anymore, my buddy is going to buy a JD2 32 bender with a 1.75 die as long as I build him a cage so I say fair deal. I'm going to start with an interior and maybe a hybrid. I'll have to find out something with the sunroof though, maybe a targa top with pop rivets like someone else suggested

Trust me, don't do an interior cage. Do a hybrid and be done. Simple roof and A pillar stuff and drop it down straight through the roof. It'll be cramped like that depending on what you do inside.

for space I take it? i was thinking the normal interior cage, A pillar with cowl bar, B and C pillars, harness bar and a big X,maybe a D pillar if I want to be adventurous and something back there to tie my rear shocks and then COs into. I didn't think that would be too much and is that not what you'd have even with a hybrid? maybe less triangulation on the interior roof or as much in the trunk.

It's hard to get a close fit with an interior cage IMO. Easier to do a hybrid. Straight or slightly bent B pillars with a harness bar and X TIED INTO THE UNIBODY like how I did mine, and then the same on the C pillar w/o and X. Just something to tie the body all together. Fast back D pillar style like Sean Ryan or Aaron/ FlexJ has on IG from HD offroad that built theirs or like Andy has his.
Interior is also harder to tie the body all together too IMO.

Yeah I see what you mean, just need to figure out the sunroof. I'm pretty sure the only thing I can really do is a targa top but I'm no fabric designer lol
