Nelly The Purple Jeep
So Its been almost a year since I bought my jeep and I figured it's time to start a build thread now that it's lifted. So here she is
a 1998 classic up country edition with 161k bought for $2400. I didn't believe the guy when he said it was actually purple since I bought it at night, well it is..
After I had owned it for a week I decided to go off roading in it. Needless to say I didn't know much about off roading.
I had it towed home, ripped out the interior, cleaned everything inside, changed the oil and it started right up

After that I just did little things like a manifold,99+ intake and 703 injectors, clear marker lights, upgraded headlight harness and housings, LED interior, speakers, etc. Let alone the fact that I had swamped my new jeep I continued to off road in it and learn plenty. Even in my worn down street tires I still kept up with guys with mud terrains.

Then I took the doors off
Then the fun started.. Around early June while we were off roading I was reading no oil pressure at times. pulled over and there was no oil on my dipstick. It had dropped about 3.5 qts of oil all of a sudden. I topped it off and thought nothing of it. Three weeks later I start it and hear a tick. Weeks go by and it slowly becomes louder and louder until I begin to sound like a diesel cherotruck. After 800 miles of driving on it I began to take the motor out since I needed a new CPS and figured it would be easy with the engine out.
Stripped the inverse torx on top of the tranny to a circle.. Ended up cutting it off with a dremel

Cleaning my new engine. Bought it from a guy parting out a 96 Cherokee because of rusted floor boards. Got it for $325 with 107k.
Unfortunately after that I broke my phone and didn't get any other photos although with the engine I bought I put in oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, RMS, water pump, thermostat, motor mounts, OFA gasket and freeze plugs.
Started to put the engine in at 10pm one night and turned the key at 2am and it fired right up. Blew a couple freeze plugs but I got that sorted out but other then that it ran incredibly well.
Then I got my lift!
a 4.5 inch lift from rough country
Yes I know of the incredibly sketchy jackstands
Sitting Purty
No rear shock bolts broke!

I did the intake since mine was leaking from when I tried to grind down part of it to fit an APN header. The injectors I did since I figured they were old enough and it's not to expensive to put new ones in

Put some Cragar soft 8s on last night so now I don't rub. Also took off all of fender flares but I still need to trim my fenders

I think I'll put mine where my airbox was since the cowl snorkel replaces it and eventually I'll put them on a roof rack. Plus I want the compressor for OBA
