So, maybe if i start a build thread i'll be a lil more motivated to get things done ha ha! My name is Nathan, and i've been on CF since August of 2010. I joined the same day i bought my Jeep! I don't post much, i'm more of a full time lurker. Unless i think i can be helpful. Truth be told, there are many more members on here that are alot more knowledgable than me. So, i am often on here learning and getting ideas. Special thanks to the countless CFers who have inspired me! I hope to one day have a nice XJ like so many on here.
With that said, here is my Jeep. It's a 96 4 door, 4.0, AW4, D30 front and D35 rear. I've just turned 206K miles. And i hope to enjoy it for at least that many more... Picked it up on the other side of Mobile Alabama when i lived down in Fairhope.
With me being half deaf, i did'nt really worry about the engine tick i heard when i test drove it. It ran too good to be a major problem! Well very long story short, that is my number 6 piston in my avatar <-. Special thanks to my friend Mike who helped me rebuild the engine. Been running strong for 14K. My Jeep then brought me to Southwest Virginia where i currently live. Can't wait to have her trail ready one of these days...
First pic is the day i got it.

First visual mods were removing the red stripe and getting a set of Canyons and new 235s. Drove it like this for awhile. Love some saggin' springs!

Well, being on CF, i gotta admit i got the urge to not have a stock Jeep! Y'all are a good (or bad!) influence!
Out came the cut-off wheels!
Off went the flares. And on with JCR Stage 2 front and rear bumpers with D-Rings.
Then i cut the front fenders and rolled the rears.
Did'nt start out wanting to paint it that way. But it's grown on me and i like it now.
Found a good deal on some 31" ATs...

I've also done the MrJCROD BBQ grill sheets hood vents. Used a bunch of di-electric grease on all my electrical connections. I have to admit i was nervous when i first started cutting the Jeep to do the fenders! It does'nt bother me now after seeing these kind of things done successfully on here so many times...

And now we are up to date. Aside from having to put in another transmission over last winter, putting in a CD player and new rear speakers and removing my sagging headliner. Along with other basic general maintenence. I am happy with my Jeep so far. I have already purchased my lift. Went with a Zone 4.5" with Nitro shocks. IRO trac-bar...

I also picked up a Cobra Nightwatch CB (still need to get a Firestick and make a mount).
I've had this stuff since December. And it's starting to drive me crazy with it sitting in the floor and not on the Jeep. I've still got a lil longer to wait tho, unfortunately. I want to find a D44 or maybe an 8.25 to replace my crappy D35. I would like to run 33s. And regear, and lockers... And then maybe need a SYE... How do y'all do it!? One of these days...
In anticipation of my Jeep being down for awhile with all that going on i picked up a 2WD '95 to have as a DD.
I like it pretty well. It's a 4.0 with a 8.25. I swear it drinks half the gas as my 4X4. It does pretty good for having 316K miles...

Don't know if it's auto trans thing or not. But it's definitely a D35. Thought it funny my 2WD has an 8.25. It's automatic too. Thought about swapping them around, but i don't know. I'd like them both to have a decent rear axle.
