my problem is, I know if I saw it on another jeep, I would def make fun of it, and think it was a redneck rigged up piece of trash.
Dad doesnt think any of that will matter because the jeep will be a DD/reliable/trail-capable machine, that will most likely run 12s, def 13s in the 1/4....im kinda considering running the weird blower thing, with dual throttle bodies. and then adding some N20 which would def put the jeep into the 11s. which is pretty dang good, for a grocery getting trail rated DD

after re-reading this it sounded very 'ricer' but I assure you that I have the means to do it all properly without cutting corners.

Id be worried about hydro-locking your engine AGAIN if water goes over the hood with that massive air sucker sticking out like that. I wouldn't do it if I was you... and are you really going to take an off road vehicle to the track and see if you actually pull and 11 sec 1/4 mile?

the jeep WILL have some form of functional ram air AND a snorkel.
You have to also keep in mind that this is being built to be a good daily driver/streetable transportation. and yes I would def take my daily driver to the strip

I say be different and go with the scoop, as long as you have the motor to back it up.
I think a hole cut in the hood with the scoop mounted to the TB would look best.. might make it easier to add a snorkel too. You could take off the scoop and run the snorkel up through the hole already in the hood.
I hope you plan on connecting the flappers to your TB as well... so they open and close with the TB.
Build is looking good.
I think a Hilborn scoop may look good as well, the one you have is rather large...

huh a 12 sec Cherokee, dual throttle body intake system? Jeez you would figure a V8 swap or supercharged 6 install would be cheaper and more reliable. Either way, I like the build so far and looking forward to seeing what you do for your mods

its actually a ton cheaper...i have the the 4.0. I have the dual throttle bodies. and I have a multiple machine shops, and a custom fabrications shop at my disposal. the intake manifold will cost me less than $170 and then Ill have 2 99+ intakes mani's i can sell for 90 to get it back. I have only considered going dual TBs because of this intake. it has a flange under neath to mount dual 4-barrels, and instead that would just run to 2 bored 63mm TBs.
If I go with the dual TBs then I will STAY NA which will be cheaper in the long run and give better mpgs. if I need more power than what will most likely be the highest HP 4.0 ever, then I will just spray. that will let me maintain my daily drivability and MPGs while still making boosted numbers.
If I stay with the 99+ intake and single TB, I will prolly eventually go to a super charger. which will be much harder on the motor and kill my mpgs.
At first I thought NO WAY would I put this on, but now EVERYONE that has seen that pic has said DO IT.

well it was delivery time.
got 2 more TBs, for a total of 6 now. Im going to be porting them and selling 63-64mm ones to get some money for funding this. along with possibly running 2 myself.
got my borla header. its just a 'shorty' style, but it is getting a full custom mandrel bent down pipe.
