The welder. I bought some scrap steel from my recycling plant and was practicing making beads and learning the settings of the machine. I also bought both the HD tie rod from Iron Rock as well as the unibody frame stiffeners.

Yup. That'd be my parents. They bought that one a few weeks ago. Im jealous of it. Hardly any rust! It was an Arizona vehicle. It does have it's flaws but I'd trade bodies if I could.

Nice! I'm tellin you... XJ's are contagious. My buddies on his 3rd. I'm on my 2nd. Neither of us have lifted one yet, but I have the lift and tires in the garage. Just need to order wheels. I really don't like the look of stock steelies with bigger tires, otherwise I'd have it lifted already. I can't wait to see where I can take this one.

Any vibes? Can't remember if you've put in a TC drop or SYE yet.

Again, good build! Keep it up!

Right? Tried convincing my friend to get one but he opted for a 2012 AWD Ford Taurus which is crazy nice (especially compared to the 97 I used to have) but it's still not a Jeep! And nope no driveline vibes yet. Was considering swapping out my fron coils for 4.5" but not sure yet. Either way I'd like to get an SYE.

So for the duration that I've owned the Jeep the gas tank has been hanging slightly on the right side because the strap was a bit loose. And of course the J-bolt was rusty so I couldn't tighten it. Took a cue from another thread that was made a while ago and use a turnbuckle to fix it instead of buying a $30 bolt.

I had to cut a bit off the ends to make it short enough but so far it's working great. (Its a 3/8 turnbuckle)

Pics aren't in order because I'm using my phone.

So I was on my way to church tonight and suddenly I started to smell burning oil pretty strong as well as a dark cloud of smoke behind me. After pulling over and taking a look at things turns out my oil pressure sending unit took a dump on me. After getting a ride I bought a new sensor and was going to attempt to replace it but the socket didn't fit on the sending unit because the oil dipstick tube was in the way So I just broke off the plastic part on slowly started to turn the rest of it until i could get it by hand. And seeing as how breaking the new one wouldn't help me any I got it as tight as I could with my oil soaked hand. After about 15 miles everything is still good. Crisis averted

Hopefully it will continue to be good. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that a pair of channel locks can get the job done.

Oh, I don't see why they wouldn't. All I had on me was some wrenches the largest of which was 7/8ths and I needed 1 1/16.

Got my new IRO tie rod today! And also put it in!

The cherokee is the size of a regular hot wheels car

Size comparison. This picture really does it no justice! This thing is massive!

Uses the same stock TREs? V8 ZJ tie rod might be an upgrade from that.

Where'd you grab that little Cherokee from? I've been looking for something like that.

Fleet farm. I believe it's a Johnny lightning car. ~$3 or so. My parents have a red cherokee and they were able to find a red one somewhere too.

Got my IRO frame stiffeners in the mail the other day! Going to have to cut off the part that gets welded to the floor though seeing as how I don't have any left and I also replaced the gasket for the fuel pump, so hopefully I can have a full tank without leaking!

The part that gets welded to the floor.
