My first XJ build
I took a gamble on this one when i bought it. This is only my second vehicle (and would gladly have it be my last) with the first one being a 97 Taurus that deserved the yard. Saw it on craigslist with only 86000 on the odo for only $2000! It was 2 1/2 hours away from me just to go look at it. Glad I did. When i got there I could tell it was going to need some work. The headliner was (and still is) hanging like a sagging tarp, it appeared as though the rear diff had a small leak, had a leaky valve cover gasket, squeaky belt, terrible running boards (who needs these on an xj anyways?) that felt like they would fall off if you looked at them wrong, and some other minor things. Don't have any pics of it from when I first got it unfortunately. Never intended to do anything to this other than general maintainence and driving. Well that changed and I'm not quite sure why or when but I'm glad it did.
Fast forward about five months and I have fixed the belt, valve cover gasket, leaky plug on the rear diff, and the death wobble. Replaced the tie rods, track bar with a RC adjustable , added a skyjacker 3" lift, and put on Goodyear Wrangler Authority 31x10.5 tires. I ordered some Black Rock D window wheels from Discount tire but their supplier sent them the wrong wheels (twice now!) so that's what I'm rolling with until the get them in.

Here's a rope net that I threw togother last night. Going to make it into a cargo net for the back as soon as I can figure out a sturdy way to attach it while still being easy to detach if I want to put larger stuff in the back. Yay for cheating and using zip ties XD

Thanks! My main concern for the body at least is to get the rockers fixed. They are rusted out real bad. 20 years of salty winters is bad on cars lol. YOOP???

Just finished redoing the net properly, and have it in the back of the jeep. Not sure if I quite like how it sits at the moment. Will get some pics up Sunday.

So pictures of the net. Not entirely sure I like it yet. Only time will tell.
Pay no attention to the saggy headliner...
Just ordered the tailpipe so I can fix my janky exhaust too. Next up is a trip to the fabric store so I can redo the headliner. Looking to get some H4 bulb conversion kits so I can actually see where I'm going in the dark as well.
