So I got screwed on my taxes so no big spending. I did get a set of s10 shocks and threw those on the rear and removed the pin striping off the sides of the jeep and here's my little project I'm toying with today
I wanted a way to have my .40 secured in the jeep but also be able to draw quickly if need be. So I took the holster that came with it and I'm attaching it to my cup holder. So well see how this works out.

welllll It's been a while since I updated this. not much done lately, but there are a few updates. I got a couple LED pods on the front bumper, and FINALLY some new shocks up front. The ride quality is worlds better now. I've got some shackle relocation brackets in the mail, and I'm ordering some Pro Comp d windows tomorrow. and the girlfriend is getting my some JKS quicker disconnects and a set of Liquid Iron Industries DIY bumper brackets for my birthday. so progress is being made. not much to show as of yet though but I'll throw up a picture of the lights I stuck on.

put my order in today at the local shop. 15x8 d windows with 3.75" backspace
rough country discos, and instead of the bumper brackets I elected to order an HD track bar bracket for the frame side to take care of the popping mine's doing.
I should have the wheels and bracket tomorrow and the discos by wednesday or thursday. the shackle relocation brackets have shipped but no estimated delivery date from UPS for whatever reason. but they're coming from tennessee so I'm guessing it shouldn't be too long.
I'm excited.

and here's a few photos from a wheeling trip me and a few buddies took a little while ago.
not really a huge fan of mud...was riding a local trail and this little hole is usually only a few inches deep...somebody dug it out bad and I got extremely stuck
had to get winched out....

so the shackle relocation brackets are in, as well as the track bar bracket, and the wheels. just waiting on the discos.
went ahead and tossed the wheels on today after work. the rest will be going on saturday.
I also picked up another LED light pod like the two I have on the front. I think I'm gonna wire it up on the back somewhere to use as a reverse light since mine suck.
also I've got the fixed LCA's that came with my lift. if I were to get like a one inch coil spacer in the front do y'all think that would throw my caster/pinion angle way way off to the point of needing some adjustable's or do you think it would be workable?

Am I talking to my self here? lol.
anyways got the discos in, so tomorrow after work I'll be putting everything on. praying to the Jeep gods that everything goes smoothly. soaked all the bolts in PB blaster today, and I'm gonna hit em again tomorrow before I start working so that should help some.
gotta figure out wtf is wrong with my wheels. the back end is hopping (for lack of a better term) at low speeds. like 5-10mph. just started doing this when I put these wheels on.
same tires as before. I balanced everything my self at work. don't really understand what the issue is...

Maybe you have a rim out of round? My powerstroke was doing the same thing, Turns out I had a bent rim. Good looking jeep by the way. I especially like the idea for holster. Think I just found something to do this weekend for my sr40c. Maybe I can find a way to make it interchangeable so I can carry my 1911 when I want to. Thanks for the idea! I'll keep an eye on your thread.

that's what I was thinking. they're brand new though but who knows. gonna take it by the shop I got em from monday and see what they wanna do.
and thanks I appreciate it. still got a long way to go. I'm planning on getting a JK in the near future so I kinda held off on doing anything to the XJ for a while cause I figured I was gonna get rid of it, but I've decided I'm gonna keep her so the spending begins again lol.
that holster was cool, I've since sold that .40 though. got a Smith and Wesson M&P 9c now for my carry gun. gonna work up something similar though eventually. I might just glass something onto the cup holder. we'll see.

welllll I got the discos on.
Apparently the HD trackbar bracket I ordered was for a different model track bar. the bolt that goes through mine is like 7/8" and the bolt hole in the bracket was like 3/4 so obviously that didn't go on. the whole point in ordering that bracket was so I didn't have to drill it out. talking with my local shop to see what we're gonna do about that.
and the shackle relocation brackets also didn't make it. I started taking the bolt out of the upper shackle eye and it would take a ton of force then POP real loud, jump like a quarter turn and then start the process over again. it was definitely coming out, and if I ran it back down it tightened up fine, but I decided I didn't like how it was coming out and opted not to go through with it. I was working on my lift at work, and I didn't wanna have to deal with a bunch of issues late into the night trying to deal with broken bolts etc on my daily driver.
so I think I'm just gonna have my local shop take care of it as soon as I can save up the money for labor. I hate paying people to do what I'm capable of doing my self, but I just don't wanna take chances on my daily. once I get my JK I won't be worried at all, but for now I'm gonna let someone else handle it.
but anyways, so saturday wasn't as productive as I would've liked, but oh well.
here's some poser shots. I was at the limit of my brake lines in these and still had more suspension travel so next pay check I'm gonna buy some GMC 1500 brake lines as the JY thread recommends and then see what she's got.
nothing too impressive but it's worlds better than it was on the old shocks and no discos.
I really wanna get those shackle relocations done soon, cause the rear really needs more droop. my shackle angle currently is horrible. they're damn near vertical when she's sitting flat and level. lol.

did a little bit of snow wheeling tonight.
met up with some friends of mine in a parking lot, and while we were waiting on the last guy to show up, a random JKU pulled into the parking lot and the guy started BSing with is and decided to come along.
we had a blast. just wish I’d gotten some better pictures, and more of them but there's only so much you can do with a camera phone lol. but hell we had fun.

re glued my headliner back up. colossal pain in the ***, but it'll be nice not to have it sagging on my head when I'm driving.
also put some sound deadener on the roof while it was out and hit the doors with it.
yesterday I finally got my auxiliary reverse light wired up too. hard wired to the battery so I can light it up with the jeep off. also doubles as an anti tailgater light lol
cell pics don't do this thing justice. it's super bright. some off brand my local offroad shop had for cheap. it's the same one as the two I have on the front.

also, (maybe this will get some input on this thread) I finally got my W2's so I'm gonna be filling soon. if I get the return I'm expecting (fingers crossed) I should be looking at about 2600 bucks back.
gonna take about 1200 towards the credit card, which will pay it almost entirely off, and then the other 1400 left over I think I'm gonna throw at the Jeep.
I'm thinking some 33x10.50 KM2's, then flip my 31's which still have 50%+ tread left. but what to do with the rest?
gonna fab a bumper using the liquid iron industries brackets and a buddy's welder then what? SYE? maybe try and find an 8.25 or 8.8?
thoughts?

probably so lol. probably 75% of the vehicles I saw on the road that night were Wranglers or other jeeps. when the snow started sticking a buddy of mine posted on facebook "you have never seen a more smug person than an Jeep owner right now"
