Well everyone this weekend was devoted to the jeep. a friend came over and we dropped the 5 speed and the auto out of the donor. Today we got the auto bolted in but not all the electrical stuff swapped yet. I am not super excited about that but since I have both of them side by side I think it will be ok... We ran into a few complications- As usual the torx bolts on the trannies were kind of a pita. One was totally stripped so we lowered the whole tranny down and reached up with a stripped bolt socket and 7 extensions and managed to muscle it out. It sucked... The jeep only managed to draw blood a few times but overall it went pretty smooth.. This week is booked solid with work so i won't have any chances to work on it for a while...

UPDATE- well I was hoping to have the jeep running again by the end of this weekend. But the tranny cooler I bought from summit didn't get here in time so I am stuck waiting on that. So I did all kinds of wiring- I ran all the wiring for the baja shifter and torque converter switch. I also installed part of the tranny cooling lines and a tranny temp gauge. It looks great I removed the stupid clock that didnt even work and mounted the gauge in there. So now the only thing I have to do is mount the tranny cooler and run the rest of the lines, mount the baja shifter, figure out how to get the stupid dipstick back on the tranny, and fingers crossed she will be on the road again. Then back in the shop for re-gearing and locker install and ford 8.8 axle swap.
(p.s.i will try and figure out where the guy got the seats from for those who are asking..)

UPDATE PICS- This is how I decided to mount the baja shifter- I just used some flat metal and bent it to how I needed and screwed it to the floor.. I might try to come up with something better but for now I just want to try it out and see.. Also this is how I mounted the tranny gauge, i really like it and it is very visible.
