Default Mechanical to Injection

Got a 89 Wagoneer with the fuel injected 4.0 and had a rod bearing go down which did some pretty severe damage to the crank. found a mechanical 4.0 in a 78 renegade and was wondering if it was possible to use the intake and accesories of the injected engine and turn the old mechanical into a injected engine? and if anyone has any experience with this any info you could give would be awesome. If its not possible may just do away with the fuel injection and go mechanical. thanks guys

you will need to fill in some of the triangle water jackets on the intake side of the head, because they dont exist on the 4.2

you may be able to use a modified SBC fuel pump block off.

as for the distributor im not to sure. ill have to check at the shop monday and compare to see if the 4.0 dizzy will work in the 4.2 block.

edit, i may be able to check tommorow morning and get back to you
