I just bought a 1986 Mj 2.4 litre 4 speed 2 wheel drive, Cherry red long bed (used to be blue) its from Virginia so it is SOLID. No rust. The rear axle still has the blue paint on it lol, very rare find up here in buffalo. Paid 1300 I'm bringing it home Monday or Tuesday, this will be a project truck not an offroad rig lol sorry to hardcore comanche wheelers. I will restore it to original condition and make her a cruiser, ill either leave it the hight it is or give it a 2" boat with some 31s. This xj thread will continue to move along as an offroad DD but you can look up project chief truck 86 Mj in the build threads on Monday or Tuesday. It will be on the slow side because I now have to pay for 2 vehicles and college but anyways here's some crappy iPhone pics I took while the guys son wrote me the receipt lol.

Ok this build has been slowly dying for the past month or so but I have a big update, as you know if you have been following my build I Also have a bone stock 86 Mj. The Mj is a project truck that will one day be a one of a kind gem, anyways the plan is to get real nutty with my xj and get dodge ram axles, dana 70,60,44 idk exactly what yet haven't done all the research. Bigger tires again I don't know what exactly what yet but the numbers gonna start with a 4. Long arm suspension, I have an idea on how to make long arms for fairly cheap. The xj axles with my current tires will then be swapped into the comanche as long with the xjs 5" lift. Just thought i would throw in a sneak peak of some bumper goods for ya

I think it's about time for me to update this, so about a month ago this happened
Fire hydrant...
Damage: bent wheel, snapped shock, yoke grenaded, axle mounts twisted and broke off, uppers twisted.
Tire was undamaged surprisingly. The next day I dropped the axle and started rebuilding.
In the meantime I've been driving this little gem,
most people go "whoah a comanche!" I personally hate it. The rear end had blown up on me twice and it's incredibly underpowered with the 2.5 litre.
Anyways I had an extra hp dana 30 laying around so I switch over some of the mounts and started rebuilding my axle.
The cast housing hates being welded on, the truss is being made out of 2 1/4 inch steel plates to double up on strength and I'm planing on making a custom diff cover out of 1/4 inch, after my parts come in I'm starting on steel in place rockers and a rear bumper. And I'm planning on painting my xj flat army green and possibly going up to 6.5 inches of lift.
I'll start updating more as the jeep starts going back together this week.

Yup that's my plan lol when my xj is back on the road the mj will be for sale. I still want a comanche but I want the right one, so I think if I make some money off this one I'll take a trip down south to get me a 4.0 4x4 shortbed.
