If the axle is out I figured I might as well. The truss and c's are relatively cheap insurance. I'll be posting a lot of pictures throughout the process.

I'm going to have to wait a little bit to regear/lock. Going to do the 8.8 rear swap so I don't want to throw any money at the 8.25.

Good call on the C gussets at minimum. Looking good. I can attest to those artec control arm mounts as well. So much better than factory.

They are definitely beefy.. Deciding what color to paint my axle after the rebuild. Might do some sort of hammered finish, or just plain ol black. :

The hammered paint gives a nice light texture look. Almost like an orange peel. I will tell you though, the black hammered paint dries to a darker grey color.

I've used quite a few of the hammered paints. Just made this boot rack for my mom for Christmas actually. She's shown/bred horses forever. Took a bunch of her old horse shoes and made this, finished it in the bronze hammered finish.

That's real cool. If we had more boots, I'd make something like that for my wife. That reminds me, I need to snag some horseshoes for another project for her.

Picked up that welding table. It's 1/4" plate on the top. Still plenty thick for my needs and the price was right. Staying on the side of my house for the night until I can get some casters to weld on the legs and clear a spot in my garage.

I'm also getting a bunch of steel he doesn't want tomorrow. Various square stock, tube, angle, flat stock, etc. probably a good 800l-1000lbs of steel and nothing under 4' length and a 4x8 sheet of expanded metal. I'm stoked.

Hmmmm....... let me know how many you can shove in there. If it's like 10 or so, it'd be worth it to rip the USPS off for 5 bucks

Oh I can for sure fit at least 10, They are used shoes, with surface rust, you'll have to wire wheel them but they clean up nice. I can get them mailed out next week if you want some.
