Default The jerkstick '99 4.0/AX-15

So couple of weeks ago, I sold one of my XJ's because it was finished and I got bored of it.

I wanted to teach my fiancée how to drive a stick, so this time I decided I ll look for one with an AX-15.

It only took me two weeks to find this one....

On the craigslist ad, it simply said "99 straight 6 with 5 speed, 210k miles, needs work" so I texted him and see what's going on.

This was what he sent me.

Oh really it need work? LOL.

A little negotiating and $500 later, it was mine. My fiancee's dad came with me to check it out, so he got to drive it back home while I drove my XJ following him to make sure. One hour trip back home was all it took.

Today I was able to take closer look into the jeep.

Oh did I mention the best part? ZERO rust.

My plans for it is to do a full tune up on it so it can be on the DD status.

I'm hoping to find some turbine wheels for it. Should look good on it.

The roof got bubbling clear coat on the top, I'm thinking of sanding the whole roof and bed lining it.

So I hear Redline MT90 is the fluid of choice for those AX-15's, so I'm gonna do an oil change on the trans, and dumping the Fram filter from the engine.

Just spent 60 on basic tune up stuff... Motor oil, oil/air filters, valve cover gasket, thermostat etc.

Gotta go get Redline MT90 for the ax15. Anyone wanna donate some to me? Haha.

I think I got a bunch of plug wires in a box at storage. Gonna get champion plugs next.

I'd say you scored with that one. I would have paid double that if the only issues are just the fender and header

So far regarding the front end damage, it's all purely cosmetic, the inner fender and the uniframe is still straight.

I just need a front bumper, a header panel, and a passenger side fender and I'm golden.

I hate guys like you! I bet you can fall in a huge pile of poop and still come out smelling like a rose. Now excuse me while I go overpay for a piece of junk.

Nice find, I'll be watching too.

lol... This is my fourth xj that I got for under 1000 AND all four of them don't have any rust either.

On other note, I went and picked up a 242 t case, probably gonna put it behind the ax15. Gonna see how fun that ll be to drive.
