Well I'm no expert.. but swapping to a better driveshaft and aligning for the small angle change can't hurt anything.

Speaking of "grey area"... sorry couldn't resist. How did you measure them? It's more than just the length of the coils that determine the amount of lift. There's also the number of windings and the thickness of the wire. That will determine ride height and spring rate.

lol. When drhoward gave them to me, he said he couldn't remember if it was 2.5 or 3 inch.

Glad to see this build still coming along nicely. Its kind of ironic that I recently just bought a rear Dana 44 with 3.55's JK Rubicon shocks and a 5-speed swap for my 99 Cherokee and an IRO double shear track bar with HD mount...I might even have to get around to finally starting a build thread like you. I need to get my Dana 44 back together...but the PO was nice enough to brake the cross shaft bolt off in the cross shaft...so that wont be fun. Any tips on cleaning out the axle tubes? My breather broke off a long time ago and there was a ton of mud inside the axle when I got it.

take the carrier and axle shafts out then spray brake cleaner inside the tubes from the diff and stuff a rag there and push it out with a broom stick. Repeat couple times until u think it look clean
