I assume your speedometer problem is fixed by now. Although I'd like to say I was working on my 2000 WJ for a while once where it was parked and so after a month or so the battery got completely drained and then i ran jumper cables with it to my XJ and it was a rough time getting enough power back to it to get it up and running and took about an hour to get the battery back charged up. However once i got it charged up again the speedometer nor odometer worked. I looked for TSB's and found one describing an inoperatice speedometer and odometer after trying to start with a dead battery. It gave me a procedure something along the lines of holding down the trip button for a certain amount of time and so and so. I can look it up and get he specifics if you'd like. It did infact fix it. So my guess is that you had a similiar problem. You did say you had a dead battery? Just throwing that out there.

Aside from my little rant, the jeep looks great! its a nice project, alot of fun isnt it? Gotta love XJ's!

Naaaaah, those are already gone. I'd rather buy new than switch old parts anyways.

Same as my 4 door, but with 107k miles and it's waaaaaay cleaner! I'm trying hard to really start putting some money away, so I don't really know what I will be doing to this one now. I'm kind of on the fence about buying the Old Man Emu 2" lift. Since this is my daily driver, I want it to ride real nice, and I have yet to read anything bad about OME. Anybody like to chime in? I just bought new skis, so I'd like to wait a little while before making another big purchase.
It's been treating me well so far. We just got our first big storm up here these last couple days, and it performed like a champ!

I had replaced the battery, but it stopped working a while after I had done that. It actually stopped while I was driving it, if I remember correctly. No need to get the info for me, that jeep is already sold, but thanks anyways. And thanks for the compliment! I love them so much I have another!

ah it stopped working a little while after so that probably wasnt the case. A buddy of mine usually keeps xj yard beaters around his place and once they **** the bed he strips them of all the parts. Its pretty fun! I've got an XJ and a WJ. I just drove my xj with my 33's for the first time the other day =) It was exciting

alot depends on whether you want to have this as a daily driver or what your plans are. I would say look at roughcountry.com and look at their 3" (DD w/ bad A stance) or 4.5 x series lifts. (More flex and off road capabilities)
