I will retract my statement did further research and yes you can recolor leather and even recondition it too. Pretty neat process I'm guessing takes time and patience but you can turn a green to brown or even black to grey and so forth. Outstanding I may try it on something just to see.
So I took a look online and I noticed that the cross member that I got might be missing a few brackets. If you happen to look at this photo it may come out pretty small but this was pulled from the internet. It appears there should be brackets that attached to the mounting point of cross member and bolted into the bottom of uniframe. Then the brackets wrap around and bolt into the sidd of the uniframe. I wonder if it is necessary to do so and if so I will have to fabricate some or call rough country and see if they can just send me those only. Either way not a big deal but just something I didn't notice not knowing exactly what the kit should have come with. They also welded that cross member onto the old vehicle as extra precaution maybe because they didn't use side brackets show in photo below? So it has several welds that will need to be grinded off of the edges. Another not so big deal but just attention to detail I guess.
For those who have done long arms before can you explain to me how the bolts attach to the uniframe? I downloaded the instructions from the website but I didn't look yet. Do you need to drill holes into the frame and then bolt them in? If so how do the bolts stay in unless you put a nut on back side which would be impossible. Or do you drill it just big enough to tap and die kit? Just curious I'm going to check instructions because mine didn't come with any hardware which means I will not only have to figure out how it attaches but buy all new hardware.
Lastly how do you know how far to place cross member from the axle mounted on the uni frame? Is the cross member the same as the transmission cross member you just swap them out? I will check directions now maybe that will say I'm just being lazy sorry lol

Nice buy on the long arms! When I started researching what I wanted to do for mine I considered upgrading but in the end decided not to for budget reasons... For now at least.

Yea that might have just been a once in a lifetime find trust me!! Depending on brand I mean those things go well over $300 by themselves. I think the entire kit can run you $780 or something like that. So for what I got it for it was a deal I wasn not going to pass on. If I didn't get it yesterday I'm not sure he was going to wait. The guy told me when I got there that he had several guys trying to convince him to sell it sooner or even slightly more so I got lucky.
I kicked myself in the *** because I sold my last kit to help fund my RC toy and then thought, well why did I do that. I knew well in doubt I was not going to be happy unless I went Long Arms in the first place which is what most here will tell you to do but I neglected to listen. So as I sold that previous RE 4.5" kit that was brand new bought while I was deployed, I said I guess I will just buy piece by piece all over again and maybe long arms this time. Two to three days later I stumbled across that deal and jumped on it. A little outside my budget at the moment but my wife reasoned with me and I got it early. I honestly thought I was going to have to wait until tax return.......
Update: I was not able to call rough country while underway on my ship so I decided to e-mail them. The next day which was this morning they responded that they can in fact sell just the brackets to me and the hardware. I got quoted $25 plus shipping. I didn't get the cost on all the hardware but I would be willing to bet it will be a good price.
They responded fast and until I talk to them on the phone because that is the only way I can order these, I will rate them A+ for quality customer service. Subject to change if they don't hold up when I call them LOL. Any one looking to know if they do now you have your answer and I know what I will order when I get home this week. I really wanted to install kit this weekend but that is okay it can wait.
Yea I'm sure they are good for thier word. I will hold them to it. I figured I may as well just go with what the product orginally came with instead of fabricating or sourcing bolts and other hardware. If I don't like what they send me and it seems it may not work then I could resort to the fabrication.
I got home today took a look at the coil springs and I found out they are sky jackers coils. Was able to make out model # and turns out the coils with this long arm kit are 6" coils. Damn lol I wasn't planning on doing a 6" lift but maybe I will now . Any benefits to a 6"? Guess that would mean 35" tires but I'm not going that big because then I would need to regear my axles, etc, etc... So now I'm not sure if I'll keep 6" coils because it probably won't look good with only 33" on it.
Let's say I do keep the coils what size leafs should I run in rear to be level? I know I should be putting in no lift shackle relocation brackets so I would need what size leafs and then what size shackles doe rear to be level in the front?

I would say 4.5" leaf packs + an extended shackle along with your no lift shackle boxes would be plenty if you plan on getting a heavier duty bumper with a winch. If not, 1/2" isn't all that much of a difference. Great find on the long arms, i've had a 3" Rusty's on for 10 years now and when I get everything else in order a new lift will be in order.

Sounds good I already have some extended shackles a member on here gave me "Dan" he knows who he is the same one donating me the brown doors from his daughters old jeep! I think those will work. Then of course the no lift relocation brackets I will need to order and leaf packs.
I'm going to attemp the front end lift this weekend, I will order the brackets and hardware from RC later but I should be able to install the long arms even without the side braces for now. That is just a few bolts holding in and then I will need to cut away my old lower CA brackets on uni body to give way for the long arms to clear. Some say you don't need to do that but I think it will be best.
I don't plan to do any off roading anyhow without adding the cross member braces/brackets so I will order those up this weekend and install kit in meantime. Once those come in its easy to put on just a couple bolts aside from drilling into the side of the uni frame of course.
No jeep update today but I did buy this today at Costco. Wife told me last night while I was on duty that she was going to get it for me but couldn't fit it in truck the other day. She knows I have been wanting a few of these in the garage.
Those seats on the rack are not jeep seats by the way those are front seats from a F250 Lariat my buddy was parting out so they are going in my F350. I have cloth his full fronts and rear are leather. Score!
