Good thing you remembered that rubber door boot, lol
We will see I have a welder and I'm practicing but I don't want to mess the brand new floors up.
The rest is just chasing water leaks, lift and tires, CB. After that I should be ready for the trails.
Looks like maybe March-April I'll be out on the first shake down.
I also agree that I would like to make the RC XJ look like my build now. So that is why I have not taken the time to paint the new body or add accesroeies I'm going to do that once I have my larger scale near complete. Speaking of that I'm going to paint my XJ and been thinking about Grey. Not sure yet it going to be home made paint job once the weather warms up anyhow.

That would be cool with a smartphone dash cam in it.
Some of the parts are not cheap, you can sink $150-$200 just on one axle if you chose to. Not saying I will do that with this one unless I was doing competitions maybe.
I'm not going to lie though I originally bought it hoping my son would enjoy it which he deos but I think I love it more than him lol. That's okay we have been toying around with flexing the suspension all over the place. Today we are planning on taking it to a trail around the corner of the house to play with. I get underway this week for a few days so getting that last little dad son time before I head out. He also keeps reminding me that the bigger Jeep needs to be ready soon he wants to go on the larger trails
Yea I would say probably easier too but really it is not. These toys are complex and once you have a understanding of it not so bad. That is why the build one is awesome because you learn how it is all put together as you build it making it easier to replace parts when needed.

I'm teasing you of course.
But I hear you about who uses the little one more... We bought one of the Grandkids a drone, first time I ever flew one. So it was one of those "Grandpa! is my turn yet???" moments. Lol
You can't say that for sure yet... You haven't started to total what you are going to end up dumping into the big one yet... Lol

Not to mention as things break and I upgrade more parts the build cost will rise. At that point I will stop thinking about how much money I have invested and not be concerned. I use the words invested lightly though because I will never get back what I put into this thing. That is something I knew going into it and don't plan on getting much back if I were to ever sell it.

Its great to have an RC that matches the 1:1.
I have a TRX-4 with an scx-2 cherokee on it. Full interior. It is as close as I can get to what my 1:1 will be in the end without the cab mod, I plan to try to cut up a lexan body to match but that is a different day.
Ill throw up a pic or 2 in my thread.

Would love to see your RC rig when you get photos up.
No its not.
And it helps get ya off the couch in warm weather for hiking trips. And if you can get your kids into it all the better.
My kids are too damn lazy and just want to be stuck to a screen.
