help building 1999 cherokee
check out rough country or rustys, they both have some pretty cheap lifts of decent quality, it really depends what you want. A locking differential would be good, along with some armor if you plan on being in the rocks. Its all about how much money and what you wanna do. Bigger tires are expensive, you can always trim fenders to make em fit...the list is endless...a budget and some usage goals would help focus the advice
I would suggest a blown big block, six speed manual tranny. divorced atlas, 5 ton rockwells, king coilovers, three link up front, and a triangulated four link in the rear. full hybrid interior/exterior roll cage, hydrolic assist steering, 42" comp creepy crawlers. ....... I think that would be a good start.

i want to be able to go through mud and rock climbing with my jeep alot of the guys i hang with have fords and they are all lifted and when i ride near them i feel really small it sucks going to meeting and having nothing done please help thanks alot
I'd recommend the Rustys 3.5" aal kit. It is easy to instal and you will not have to worry about removing the front leaf spring bolts. Then go with a 31" mud terrain of your choice and a black steel wheel. THe lift kit is about $300 shipped to your door and you can find a used set of tires and wheels ready to bolt on for less than 500. Once you are comfortable wheeling that set up then i would with lockers front and rear. And when you are ready you can upgrade to 33s with a little fender trimming.
there are a lot of good and inexpensive ideas you can apply to your rig. look at all the build threads and fab ideas on here. all the people on here are smart and creative, if one person doesnt know someone will.
Don't use an add a leaf. it is a waste of time and money. They will sag and not flex as well. wait a little longer and save a little more money and get a kit with full leafs.

I think you should cut the Uni-frame out and put it on a custom built frame then bolt in 6BT to an allison tranny with a Stak 3 sp t-case that puts the power to your unimog portals running 54" boggers. Advance adapters makes a 100% bolt on kit for all that, so you wont need to worry about welding. That's how I would start my build.
I had a jeep that I built on a tight budget for tough trucks. I used re 3.5 coils, fixed tube style lca's and a bastard pack that I built with leafs off a box style s-10 leafs. It actually articulated very well.
