It's really kinda too bad that's not a pancake tank. 'Cause that would be MINT!. Fit right under there a lot easier without much fear of bashing it against a rock or something.
Way it is now though, you could probably just make a drop-down skid plate for it... should only hang below the rail a couple of inches.

Or I could assemble a tank out of 2" iron pipe, about 48" long. That would give me 2.3 gallon capacity and it's thin & long enough to put it next to the rail

that's an idea too. I ll look into that before doing the undercarriage idea.
Not sure if I should just get one piece of pipe and two caps, then drill/tap the end for a bung fitting. Or two pieces of pipe with a T fitting in the middle with a reducing bushing on it and cap the ends.
Should I use Teflon tape on the threads when assembling it, OR assemble it, and weld them. Choices choices

TONS of options. You could probably even step up to 3" and increase your capacity by about a gallon or so... wouldn't hang down too terribly much.

Only objection I would have to putting it in the bumpers (for me personally) is from NFPA training videos that warn firefighters of the dangers of standing in front of a vehicle when fighting a vehicle fire because of the "shock absorbers" on some bumpers heating up and causing the bumpers to become projectiles.
Same principle applies to a compressed air tank that heats up and becomes a ticking time bomb in a bumper. No condemnation to anyone that DOES decide to put it there... just something to consider.

The other day I fabbed up a bracket to hold the 12v compressor.
Also ordered a check valve from Viair off eBay.
I also ordered a 4 port manifold from Viair off eBay. Still awaiting for arrival.
I also got another replacement TJ canyon wheel from Mr. Pink and had it mounted. I think the jeep look much better now.
