The coversion cost me a total of about $570.00. I got the front axle, transfer case, wiring, shifter, cross member, and driveshafts for $220.00. The 4wd transmission I got for $250.00. And tanny mount and extras stuff was about $100.00. I just got lucky finding everything for so cheap.

On the cost of parts jeeps: My buddy runs a junkyard, and two weeks ago, he sold 40 cars as scrap and averaged $670 apiece for the sheetmetal alone.
So, if you find a cheap jeep for under $700, buy it, strip off everything you can use, and get your money back on the metals market.
