Actually did something today and have some pictures!
Installed the headlight harness upgrade from jhc7399, and my Hella H4 housings. Pretty straight forward.
You can see the bracket that holds the headlight in on the drivers side is still attached. Bottom left screw was stripped but was able to bend it out of the way and get everything done.

Mounted the relays at the battery to fender ground. Only did that because it started raining on me. That will change.

Hella housings. Nice, clean, and clear. Was a good thing I had these to do because the connectors on the back of the original housings were corroded and one prong on each housing was ready to crack off.

I ran the grounds back into the engine bay and attached them behind bolts on the radiator support.
Replaced the ignition switch which was pretty simple. Thought it was the reason my wipers, right blinker, radio volume, and front dome light are all finicky. Haven't taken it for a drive, so I don't know yet, but the original switch looked fine so I doubt it. Any suggestion on what else to look for? I think I might have a crappy ground at the radio. Think that could relate?

Well I'm headed up north for the holiday weekend in the morning. Don't expect to have any issues with the jeep, but we'll see. Only 3 hours to get up, so should be good. Still don't have the front DS in (broken/seized bolt in the yoke). But I want to hit a couple small trails and get a couple pictures.
I've really started actively looking for another XJ. I'm going to check out a rust free 2001 one Monday or Tuesday if it's still available. If that happens, or when I find another one in general, The 97 will go into the garage for repairs, and will probably get sold afterward. Only time will tell when all/any of this actually happens.

XJ made it up north and back no problem. It's about a 400 mile round trip. Of course I didn't hit any trails because, I either had a beer in my hand and a bunch in my stomach, or we were out on the ATV's. Either way, it was a blast!
Until... I got home and my girlfriend lost her mind on me. Of course she waits until after the fact to get mad. Never says anything beforehand. Needless to say, I might be single here again in the not so distant future. Which at this point, is fine with me.
Stay tuned for Fitz's drama, and no work on the XJ. LOL

I'd rather just focus on my jeep and myself anyway. I could use being single for a bit and just do what I want when I want, and who I want if they let me. HAHAHA!

Well, the lady and I decided to split. It ended up being a mutual thing, but still doesn't make it easy. Hopefully once I get myself back on top, and in a new place, I'll start getting some work done on the XJ.

No jeep updates... just life updates. Working on moving all my **** to a new apartment this weekend. I should still be able to work on the XJ as needed while I'm there, just won't be as easy if it rains, or whatever else.
That being said, I'm considering "down grading" to a car to save some extra dough. I gotta get setup in my apartment and see how much money I'm working with, but my hopes are to get my hands on a Subaru Forester XT (the "T" stands for Turbo
). It would get some performance upgrades, wheels, tires, and lowered a bit. I can't keep my vehicles alone.
Before anyone says it... YES! I know everyone calls them lesbian cars. But I like the older models. I was thinking about looking for a WRX STI, but they get beat up on too much to buy used. Only time will tell what happens.

Sorry to hear about the GF man. Like all bad things that happen in life, it shall pass. Just keep your head up and keep pressing forward.
So you think you will sell the XJ and buy that Subaru? Or keep the XJ but use the Subaru as your new DD?

You want to come buy it when I find a Forester? It gets me around no problem about 350 to 400 miles a week, but it does need some work that I unfortunately don't have the time to do with everything going on. I'd let it go for a good price, but it might be a little while until I find the right Forester.
