I will look into this. Thanks, Adam.

I actually checked out this bumper, and I was planning some similar kind of tie-in around the lights and fenders. But as I sat there on my stool behind the Jeep Wed/Thurs, waiting for that diffusion of light that signifies a great idea has just been realized, I found I was suffering from a significant case of brain cramp, and just built it! All I have is night-time pics. It looks great from the back. I have not made any fillers between the body and bumper... probably not going to.

Here's what it looks like. I'll get a couple side view shots when I have daylight, but it won't be until next week.

Needs a side shot. It has an open gap on the side which I think I will not worry about. Fallon is wire-wheeling as I type, getting ready for paint. SOOOOO ready to move on...

Great build... Love the homebrew aspect. Wish I grew up doing this kind of stuff!

Thanks, zrace. I appreciate the compliment. Makes me feel good to be able to teach my kids. Of course, I'm not sure they're learning how to build the RIGHT way!

This is where we are as of today. I got the bumper installed while Fallon is at school. I couldn't stand to wait another minute! I like it, but I definitely see room for improvement.

Here's the bumper and hitch installed. It will have to come back off for paint, but that's down the road a piece.

And here's the gap on the side. I just couldn't make up my mind what to do, and nothing seemed easy, so it stays.

Here you can see how the rocker sticks down below the bumper. I still would like to do something with this. It bugs me completely!

I'm also disappointed in how the grinder marks show through. Probably address this later when we remove the bumper.

I started fiddling around with the front bumper. Using this 4X4X3/16. I want to bend it to match the curve of the grill.

I found the center of the bumper and made marks every 4". I picked this number at random while it was sitting on blocks in front of the Jeep. I cut three sides of the bumper with a disc and bowed the metal and tacked it in place. I went back and forth between the Jeep and the table, cutting more each time. I didn't cut them all at once.

Think I'm going to leave it there. I like how it is coming along.

Maybe do a partial cut and fold of the part of the quarter below the lowest crease? You could even make an angle like the one you drew that drops from the bumper to the tire. Seems it would be easy to take some of the excess trimmed sheet metal to extend the rear quarter to fill the gap under the tail light if you didn't want to add it to the bumper.

Probably it will be as you say with a C&F, but I don't want to mess it up! Since I have rockers to do (sliders) I will wait until I can "draw my line" down the side of the Jeep to make it all flow. If that makes any sense at all??

I have this idea of front bumper flowing into flat fenders, flowing into rock rails, flowing into flat fenders, flowing into rear bumper. I have NO freaking idea if I can actually do it or what it will look like!

More work on the front bumper. I got the ends tapered and plates tacked in place. I'd like to taper them up from the bottom too, but then the horn will be exposed. So I guess I'll leave it.

Ends cut and tapered.

Yes, that does make sense. Didn't realize you had all those plans.

That front bumper looks really nice too! I thought you might do that with the ends. Curious how much it will weigh.

Right now it's around 40 or 50 pounds.

Fallon is cutting 3/16 metal to make the front bumper tie-in brackets.

This is what we came up with... unrefined. Took, maybe, 7 or 8 minutes.
