I just have them because I know once I fully flex i'm bound to lose a coil. These heavy duty ones I made don't even budge now. It's nice to have that extra security.
So today I wasn't able to make it to the Jeep. Tomorrow is a whole different ball game. I'm finally finishing up the those unibody tie-ins. I'm stuck between 1/2 or 5/8 by 2.5-3inches for the bolts and nuts used for the tie-ins. Anybody have any input? I'm having the hardest time getting my a-hole of a friend to help me bleed my brakes so I'll be figuring that out as well.
So made a 5-50 cord tailgate net. Finally got my front pinion angle set, and got a good shot of the diff cover and steering.
I decided to add 4 more washers to the steering for peace of mind.
Work has officially began on the unibody tie-in recovery points. The whole are only drilled to 3/8 inch for now but that'll be made to either 1/2 or 5/8. I'll be welding on plates to each side for where my d-rings will go through. Also Driveshaft is out for delivery today. So I'll get that put on tomorrow and find the size shim needed.
I didn't need any washers where I first put them against the knuckle just looked right to me. After taking a step back I realized I also needed washers for the where it contacts the nut and bolt head. So I added 4 more washers to correct why wrong original set up and keep my OCD off back.
I'm going to paint either a middle finger or the spocker for the rear diff cover. I'm all about being unique. Plus I'm a relatively chill person who loves to wrench and wheel.
I finally got my driveshaft!!!! Now for the bad news. It's too long, so I'll be cutting it down tomorrow after a thorough inspection. Still need to order my CPS and shims. I'm not going to let this hiccup slow me down. I'll have her in Tampa this weekend come hell or high water
That steering setup looks about the same diameter as a stock front driveshaft... but heavier.
I was looking back a few posts and saw the retainer clip discussion. Got me thinking cause I stripped one of the (laughable) stock bolts after putting in my new coils. The retainer clip only covered to about the middle of the coil diameter... seemed inadequate for stock and pointless for any aftermarket springs.
Keep sending updates. I like the green shocker... fun cause anyone that knows what it means probably doesn't give a **** to complain. Most people that would get upset prob don't know.
