So I got some work done Drilled more holes for the LEDs to show when on. Got most panel wired up. I did get some better hood pins that I'll install tomorrow. I picked up these washers to add to my steering. Plus it gives me extra nuts and lock washers. My ultra-guage is showing my baby is sitting at the perfect temp while sitting still and fans on. The red *** in the picture is from my old boat. It's the kill switch I'm wiring up for my jeep so it has added protection from being stole. I still need to find the tethered piece or make one so the device works once wiring in line with that circuit. It's nice because it' s in the glove box that can be locked. Still no word on the driveshaft, getting on my last nerve. She's coming along at a relatively decent rate.
I've been watching this thread since you started, and every day I'm amazed at how much further you're getting. It took me 6 hours to fix a terrible brake setup on just the front, and you're over here blazing through all of your projects at warp speed. Good on you, man. Awesome rig. Hopefully as it warms up here, I can start putting in some real work on mine, haha.
I have to do all my stuff in a quick manner. When I start a project I want it done quickly, so I can try out my new toy. The funniest part is I don't feel like I've accomplished much.
I ran the kill switch in between my 12 Volt power/acc on my flip switch. I don't have a key anymore so I needed some kind of security.
MurdercityXJ I'm always on the move. I'm upset I haven't finished my unibody ties, or my front pinion angle. If I can get my driveshaft in and the shims also before or by friday, I'll be able to go to Tampa to get my other parts and ZJ seats

So all you did was run the switch to the fuse box and it works?
No, I removed all the wires that plug into my ignition housing on the steering column. I then tied all the wires together that are required to operate turn signals, fuel pump, and ACC; I put a spade connector on this line and put it on the load side of the switch. I separated the 12v power source. Now I ran a wire from the 12v source to once side of the kill switch, and from the other side of the kill switch I ran a wire into my main switch that connects power to the ACC/turnsignal/fuel pump. So it's an interrupter in the circuit that takes it from closed to open and vice versa. To start the Jeep, I ran another line from the acc, fuel pump, turn signal line to a push button; on the other pole of the push button is the wire that goes to the starter. It's neatly placed on my dash to the right of steering column in the blank space directly to the left of the cig lighter and directly below the gauges. If you knew the story to why I have no key you'd be shocked.
Considering everything else you're doing too, I feel like I'm moving backwards in comparison, hahaha.
I tell him this all the time when he starts talkin' about "slow progress" in his build thread. Meanwhile I've had mine for 4 years and have gotten virtually NOWHERE.

Hate us cause they aint us. Y'all are peanut butter and jealous!!! Rubbing KY jealous all over your genitals... And I'm being serious about feeling like I'm at a stand still.
MurderCityXJ: After I submitted my re-class paperwork to go from EOD to Combat Medic I took leave and went to visit my mom and grandparents in Orlando. I had decided that I didn't want to put all the miles on Titan that was supercharged with 24s(make fun all you want). So instead I took my bone stock XJ at the time and set out on my trip from Orlando, FL to San Antonio, TX. Now as you can imagine that trek isn't a short or fun one, especially when loaded with gear and necessary uniforms for the next 4-5 months. Well I made it to Mississippi when I stopped to grab some fast food. When I came back out I went to turn on my Jeep and the key cylinder kept spinning. No big deal if I wasn't pressed for time; but good ole Murphy's law bit me in the ***. I had to sign in to my new unit by 1000 hrs the next morning and its midnight. I still had 8 hours of driving left to do on top of shave, brush teeth, get a new uniform on. So I did what any BADASS(JK) would do. I took my gerber and a flashlight to start tracing wires. I unplugged the collective plug and with some trial and error with a gum rapper and paper clip I made a push button start essentially. I drove those last 8 hours with it like that and no turn signals since I kept shorting everything out. Once I was able to check in to my unit and be accounted for, I went to the parts store grabbed some wire, switches, connectors, and heat shrink. Now you know my awesome experience that led to my push start. Oh and btw I just replaced that key cylinder 3 months prior to this incident.
That's fantastic! At least you have a reasonable excuse! although after pulling my ignition switch apart, I don't understand how more XJs don't get stolen....
Well seeing as I'm crazy and have a permit to carry my pistol, I dare someone to try. Only thing I worry about is my radio, and tools but that's only when I have my tools in the XJ and the radio is just a marine Pyle I got off amazon with 2 marine speakers for 50 bucks so not a huge upset if taken.
