When I originally designed it, I was wanting to keep the anti-sway bar. Now that I had to change the design, the bar had to go, so I will be going OTK ASAP, but I will have to shorten the drag link to do it, but that is NBD. I'm looking forward to the increase in ground clearance, and decreased angles on the DL for sure. I will prolly wait til this winter to do it, but I will be doing it for sure!!

No, it is welded completely across the top portion, and welded in 4 spots along the bottom, at about 3" per weld. As for the welding, it was the most difficult thing on the build to weld because of the big difference in material thickness. Once I figured out the settings, and cleaned everything VERY well, it welded pretty well. The sheet metal of the XJ is galvanized, so you have to clean that all off completely. You should run a fan while you weld to the sheet metal as well, galvanized fumes are no joke!! I have hit them hard several times so far, and I have not had a single issue. HTH!!

I just wanted to give a quick update, I removed the Quickloc from the front axle, because it was broken, after only three trips!! After a few more trips with an open front, and an EZ locked rear, the rear locker started sounding horrible!! It would ratchet normally when turning to the right, but when turning left, it sounded awful! I have determined that I will never own another lunchbox locker! Since all of this BS, I have had a Yukon full spool put in the rear, and a Detroit Locker in the front. I have not wheeled the rig since the install, but I'm really anxious to!! So far, the spool has done exactly what it was supposed to on the street, and I know what to expect from the rear end now...all locked, all the time!! LOL!! I can live with the tires chirping, lurching, and what not. It is way better than the constant banging, and racket that was going on before!! When I get out in it, I'll post up, and let everyone know how it goes.

Love the rails, I did the same thing but I used 2x3x3/8" angle because it's what I had laying around and it's bulletproof. I slid off a ledge the other day and dropped about a foot and a half onto them and they didn't even flinch. A lot of people said angle was stupid and it wouldn't work but I just couldn't see cutting out dent/rust free rockers for no reason.

where'd you get your leaf springs? I've never seen military wrapped packs on an XJ. I would very much like to get my hands on a pair of those, I've seen too many situations where a simple mil-wrap with the secondary leaf would've been enough for someone to drive home.

I have hammered mine with no issue at all. I just like the fact that they are there, but blend in pretty well, and don't stand out, kinda sleeper...

They are BDS 3.5" springs, and they are starting to sag, so I'll be in the market for new springs soon. I might keep them, and do a shackle relocation kit. It would give me about 1.5" of lift back, and keep the flexy springs. I love their flex, but need a touch of lift to level the rig back out.

Thanks for the compliments guys!!

I had the Jeep's front end resting on the tie rod at one point right after I built it, and it did bend it a little, but i straightened it back out, and it has been awesome so far. I did notice a little slop in the hiem at my pitman arm, so I will go through and replace all of the hiems. I want to shorten the drag link, and go OTK, too. Ironman actually is going to make me a new DL, as soon as I get off of my duff, and send him the measurements!! LOL!! Thanks Dan!!

My TB is a RE piece, and mounts to the stock location.
