Pics of progress so far:
OK, so here are all of the pics that I have to this point. I'm going out today to load the Jeep up, and bring it home. I got the steering issues resolved, I think, so it should be good to go!! Here are the pics:
Getting ready to pull the radiator, so I got the tools cleaned up and organized:
Rad is out:
Back in and up to temp, all is well:
I made this sleeve out of a piece of hydraulic ram that was around, nice and strong. I placed the grade 8 bolt in it, and welded the poo out of it, then I turned it in the lathe:
This is the piece that it goes into, I needed another adjustment point, so I used another grade 8 bolt, but this one is 1" in diameter.
All of these pics were of the design that DID NOT work. It would shift from side to side, due to the heims moving, then I went with a double shear design, that I think is going to work. For me to have room for the newer set up, I had to lose the sway bar, but I'm not too worried about it. It is a trail rig that sees very little on road action, so all should be fine:
Well, she is all done, and ready to go. I can't wait to get her out, and see how it all works!!

Yep, it ain't no Porsche anyways!!LOL!! It is done BTW, I drove it to work today!! Everything seems to be spot on. I tried to hit all of the spots in the road that gave me the dreaded DW, and nothing out of the ordinary has happened yet. It's weird, I keep expecting it to happen, but that is from having the problems for awhile!! I have to get used to how it operates all over again!! I guess that is a good problem to have!!LOL!!

OK, I can honestly say that all of the things I did to the Jeep work exactly how I had hoped they would!! I have done two outings, and 3 trails with 0 issues. The last trail I did, Chinaman's Gulch, really tested the rock rails, lockers, and skid plates, and they performed perfectly!! Now that I have went wheeling with Seth, I need to start thinking about building my long arms!! He has them, and they flexed very nicely!!

Awesome build to read through. I like the K.I.S.S. approach to the skids, I think I am gonna steal your steering set up too.
