As some of you already know, my 19 yr old son is deployed with the Army for a year and I'm building him a XJ while he's gone (check out the Cherokee Chat section -a cherokee for my soldier to get the whole story).
Well, the build is now officially off and running, thanks to motogpman2006. I just bought his 95 green 4d XJ. I figured I'd post the build up in the correct section. Here she is with a 3" Rough Country lift and not much else.

I put a 33x12.5" tire from my TJ on the 3" lifted Cherokee to see how it would fit. Obviously WAY too big. The wheels rub with any turning. The plan is 32" tires with cut-out flares.

I think thats AWESOME you are doing this for your son! I have not read the other thread yet for the whole story but wish him the best and give him a big Thanks from a former SGT. Good luck with the build! I'll be watching it!

I worked on some interior/exterior issues today. The door armrests were destroyed and impossible to find replacements, even from the dealer. Finally I found some from a different year from a guy parting out his XJ and did a little fab work. It all turned out great. Check out the before/ after pics.

Today I replaced the rear hatch support struts and put a pair of Rubicon Express adjustible lower control arms on the XJ.

This is just great. Thank him and his family for his service and my freedom. Our brothers and sister in arms are heroes, they defend our communities, and demonstrate the will of our nation. I know I'm in the chorus here; but Thank You Dad, for looking out for him. God bless you both.
ShepWoodD, the RC lift seems to ride fine. However, it still has 29" tires on it. I'll know better when the big wheels go on.
