been running the Sky jackers + a leaf for a little over a week and there just too soft. The smallest bump with a load and its bottomed out, not fun on the trail.



I pulled the second smallest leaf from the trail master pack and I hope to get a nice happy medium for ride quality that is not harsh but still controlled.

No level ground pics yet but I did maintain that 8ish inches of wheel gap I like.

I also made up some hobo bump stops out of LCA bushing rubbers and some hockey pucks and they work perfectly











a quick trim of the fender lip and she will be ready for 35s when that day comes.

Had a club meeting at a gnarly little trail system up in Mass. Good times out in the woods

Out with the old and in with the new (again)



I did a stock tail pipe with the turn down cut off, because it hits my shackle, and a cheap 2 1/2 turbo muffler with the adapters welded on.
mmmm...... crappy beers and crappy welds......



I also welded the tubes to the muffle case. My last one cracked real bad and I hope that it will make it stronger.

last but not least a new sticker, possibly my favorite.

I didn't want to do it but I had to fold the quarters in while I still had something to hold. One more thing I can say I wont do again is bed line the body. it does a great jo of hiding the ugly bits but by the time you notice its crusty its bad.














so its all cut down and bent up to place. tomorrow I will get out there and weld it up and try to make it look as good as I can.

All welded up and a splash of paint. I don't hate it, hopefully it will grow on me.

Rear quarter fold looks good with a bumper that goes with it. Any plans for an aftermarket bumper?

IRO DIY is what I have, I decided to not run a rail under the armor.

We like hill climbs yes we do, we like hill climbs how about you!

We even had some photographers there at the last wheeling event. Its amazing how good they can make the old junk look.

My wife typically hikes around with our DSLR camera and takes shots of everyone. It's a great way to capture the day.

1st step of WJ swap complete, we got the tracbar relocation done. The RE 1660 has an ID of 1" so it was sleeved and plug welded when we shortened it about 3.5". The JKS bracket install is pretty straight forward, but it seems like it is clocked to point straight at the RE bracket. The RE 1660 has a bend in it to go the front of the axle that I didn't really account for so it has some tension on it from being pulled forward to match the bracket.. Steering seems much more responsive and direct with less tire shake.

Went out with some guys from the club on Sunday and hit the good stuff up at Brook Ridge. I seriously need to look into more armor and more tire if I'm going to continue to wheel it this hard.


I smashed the passenger mirror off on a tree, and squished the drivers rocker on a rock. All in good fun, its just starting to sink in that its never going to be a clean overlander. I might as well focus on having a solid trail rig I can drive anywhere.
