Finally made some time to wash the thing and honestly I took these pic's thinking I might put the thing up for sale.











A very slim possibility but I would be looking to replace the jeep if at all with something like this.



I got the wife a beautiful volvo XC90 and I could really use a truck around the house, plus I'm Lovin the look of those SAS Toyotas

 

Anybody on here at GAJR this year? Had a good time catching up with the my jeep peeps and did the wimpy end of the rock garden and the extra wimpy obstacle course and hit the RTI ramp for the first time in a few years.

 

Went Wheeling today. Felt good to be out in the woods.



Hit a couple cool obstacles and all was well. Day ended with the other XJ in the group finding out how well dana30s rock bounce.

got these strange looking wind chimes in the garage.

 

Got the tie in brackets socked down. You never really relize how jacked the front of your frame rails are until you try and bolt 1/4" plate to them.

 

been driving around for the last couple weeks with the winch stubby on but no winch.



I love how tight it is to the body and how little to overhang is. My dad had an old X9 superwinch in the basement that hes had for 15+ years, reluctantly he gave it up after I ran a bunch of new brake line in his old chevy pickup for him.




I did have to do a bit of trimming to be able to slip the grill in.




of course I had to test it out.


and thats where I'm at for now. Hopefully I will get the wires run and the last few mounting bolts all taken care of more sooner than later and then I will be pulling my own weight

 

If you like it then you should put a winch on it



Its crazy, I can t believe ho much better it rides with the winch on the front. Tire shake and the weird not death wobble wobble seems to have gone with the extra weight over the front end. Unexpected surprises

scored some trail master 4.5" lift springs from a friend.






installation wasn't too bad, I'm surprised with how much more lift I got out of the rear leafs being they had the same resting height. I guess the 5+ years of abuse and sag plus a couple more leafs will do that

I definately have some more fine tuning to do. track bar could used be let out a couple turns and I'm hoping I can get a little deeper with this shackle angle and drop the rear a touch.

One of those upgrades you look at, research, and drool over. The WJ knuckle swap. I'm happy to say I've taken the first step toward better steering and brakes.

 

You could probably use your current steering if you cut down the drag link

 

Yeah I know, I want to get away from the Hiems.

 

Why? I've had mine for over a year no issues.

 

My BLee setup is pushing 3 years old and has never failed me. Its a compilation of reasons of why I'm done with it. Mostly I don't like bolts holding it together, I don't like like that the joint is so exposed , I don't like that the threads are welded in. The hiem setups are no doubt strong and simple and great for a toy or designated trail rig, but I trust tie rods more on the street. I'm working toward a vehicle that is comfortable and trustworthy enough to do some overlanding.

 

To each their own... Someone will get a nice crossover steering when you sell it
