first things first, I bought my first xj about a year ago, did a mild build, fell in love with it and then sold it. Recently picked up an 87 xj to do a full build, long arms, linked cage, everything. found one that had 150k on it white 4 door, rubicon express lift, 33's and a mystery misfire. picked it up for a good price and then the motor blew up. Went to the local junk yard and got myself a "new to me" motor and tossed it in. Same misfire except now it sputters around 2200 rpms and up. it currently has new plugs and wires, air filter, gaskets and all new vacuum lines. im about to pick up a new TPS, fuel filter, cap/rotor, map sensor, icv, cps, o2 sensor and add more grounds but I have a feeling ill be back here with another update with bad news.

After all that is done and if it is still giving me issues im going to completely rewire the engine harness. I looked at it pretty closely and found no damaged wires but it was tampered with in the past unfortunately

All right so heres the update I didn't want to post, I went ahead and replaced the motor, tps, crank sensor, cap/rotor, plugs, map sensor, every vacuum line, o2 sensor, every possible gasket, water pump, thermostat, exhaust and BAM still has misfire like symptoms. So i tossed up the white flag and towed it over to jeep this morning to have them figure it out. I also rewired the engine bay and found no bad wires

Update! Got it running perfectly finally, turns out it was a bad tps which is weird because it was brand new, anyway i removed the egr bs and I couldn't be happier. Took no time to wait and got straight to work. Built myself some tube bumpers and the begining of the rock sliders

Snapped the front driver side axle right away, replaced it for 75$ from local jy. Pretty stoked on this xj, came with a ford 8.8 with lsd and disk brakes along with a front locker. Also been helping my buddy cage his xj

Can't wait to start my cage

Update, got kicked out of my parents house, got my own house married and couldn't be happier. Also my landlord is a b so I can't do any fabrication at the house. Worked out a deal with my pops and bought a 1400sqft shop about 20 minutes away. Move in date isn't until April 1st so I'll have to wait. Took a desert trip tho and had a blast ran great. Plan on caging it ASAP along with making my own long arm kit and rear links

Got started on the interior today, ive been lagging on the build, I recently bought a shop and it takes a while to kick out the old tenants, anyway I couldn't resist but to feed my urge to keep going so i did some work out of the garage.

Ive been pretty bad about posting here But anyway i broke my lower control arm mount on the axle after putting the xj in a ditch haha.
So that only led to the next thing.... Long arms! Being that this is my test/beat up build i just threw together something quick. 1.75" dom with 1.5" inner sleeve, full heims and a nice greasable uniball up front. Took 2 days to think about and install/align but then it came down to testing... It was for my friend and mine bdays, decided to do a big bear trip...

Got tired of looking at my pos front bumper so i hacked off and built something a little more appropriate, also while doing that the fedex man showed up and made me a happy guy

Pacesetter headers! A lot better than my extremely bad exhaust leak. 3/6 of the tubes on the old manifold were crack 360...

Not sure if i want to make a wider stinger
