Bought My First Jeep 1989 Cherokee Laredo Xj
As you probably already can tell from the pic it has already been given a few accessories. It has a 1.5" RC suspension lift with the nitrogen shocks. And about 1k miles on the at tires. Looking for suggestions on what to do first. I'm not wanting a mud bogger or rock crawler. But more to the tune of an expedition vehicle / BOV / Outlander.. Any tips and suggestions are welcome. Btw interior is immaculate for an 89. Has 206k miles and everything is original except for the accessories. Paid 2300 for it. I felt good about the price here in Tuscaloosa. Thanks in advance!

Guy I bought it from had it for 3 years and used as his occasional hunting truck. 3k miles total in three years he owned it.

None what so ever. I crawled over and under to make sure. I got lucky for sure. It's in amazing condition. Only thing that doesn't work is the rear windshield wiper. I haggled him down from 2700. He didn't want to budge cause of the condition but cash talks..

Seems a tad steep to me, but it's super clean and if you're happy with it then that's all that matters. Congrats and welcome.
There are numerous "top 10" lists on general XJ upgrades, I've been looking because I'm building mine with about the same guidelines, general all-around, fun type vehicle.

Looks Real Clean.
Since it's an 89 it's a Renix XJ.

I'm thinking with what I've read so far I'm going to do some cheaper power upgrades first. Cold air intake and a throttle body spacer. I'll send pics after I find a good deal and install.

So I've found out a buddy of mine bought a plastidip kit. Since you can peel it off when you're tired of the color I figured I might as well pay 200 bucks for 3 gallons and dip the jeep camo green. If you're unfamiliar with dipping your vehicle check out dipyourcar.com . It appears from watching videos that it's quite easy. So I'll post pictures after she's all od green!!

Picked up a new valve cover gasket, transmission fluid filter, transmission fluid, and a thermostat. It was sticking today and overheated on the way home from grocery store. It was expected when I bought this 89 that I would be replacing a lot of things. because literally every thing but new battery cables, spark plugs, and belt is original. It's crazy how much of a time capsule this xj is. Also bought herculiner to roll on all my plastic. I'm going to plastidip the jeep within the month hopefully. And install the lift and new tires near October.
