going back to factory seats, and maybe a sunroof? Also replacing a very bent door with one that is the wrong color, but less bent.

old door was very dented, the window regulator didn’t work, and the lock stuck, found another door off an 89 wagoneer, and installed it. It’s the wrong color, but it’s not dented, and everything works.

What I did last night/today:
1) swapped drivers rear door
2) installed the front and transfer case skid plates
3) fixed the wiring for the driver's seat
4) cleaned the wheels and plasti dipped them (this is just temporary till I decide what I want to do with them).
5) installed new front brake lines that are the correct length.
6) installed 1.5" wheel spacers for better tire clearance.

Things I still need to do:
1) Bleed the brakes
2) go over the suspension and just make sure everything is still torqued to spec.
3) Fix the A/C
4) fix passenger rear window (it rolls up and down, just poorly. might just need to be greased?)
5) attach seat switches to seats in the front
6) install seat covers when they show up.
7) alignment
8) pass emissions
9) figure out what the ticking noise is when I accelerate.

Things I would like to do:
1) get the glass for the sunroof and install that
2) tint the windows.
3) fix dents
4) clear the car so the paint stops fading
5) replace the driver's fender. I have it, I'm just lazy.
6) recover the seats properly.

I do a ton of work and it seems like the number of items on my list never actually goes down.

Cool vidéo.
With my 87 we love your Posts !

Btw, I look for small parts of the seat fabric to repair my own seats. And also pieces of carpets as well. don’t throw away anything

Color of fabric and carpet is different from the usual beige we find in other XJs.

I fussed around with bleeding the brakes, and somebody mentioned speed bleeders to me. Why have I never known about these things?? what an amazing concept! Huge improvement in the process. hopefully I'm good there now.
The seat covers came. The instructions are crap. I tried to install them in 102 degree temps and everything was hot, so I gave up and brought the instructions inside, waiting for a cool morning and promptly lost them, so emailed the company asking for new instructions... (not that they were any help to begin with... but at least they were something).
Been screwing around with the alignment, and realized the RE trackbar I ordered when I tried to buy an RE lift kit, doesn't quite work with my RC lift kit I ended up buying, since the RE was a 3.5" and the RC is just 3" and the front drive shaft is hitting the front exhaust. I had to drill out the hole for the upper part of the track bar, so does that mean the RC track bar won't work anymore? it doesn't require drilling out the hole at all.
Bought some R12 to R134 adapaters for the AC, I've tried 3 sets now and none fit properly, so it looks like I need to just buy a new kit, that is meant for it, and go from there maybe?

It got WAAAAAAAAAAY too hot to work on my jeep, so put everything off for a minute. Decided to just buy the RE 3.5" springs, which should allow the track bar to be the correct length for that lift kit, and hopefully fix that issue.

I have a click that needs to be fixed next. going to drive me ****ing crazy. Thinking maybe a ujoint? I replaced the front drive shaft and half shafts ujoints, but didn't do the rear drive shaft.... yet. so that's next.

So frustrated. Got everything back together with taller springs, but still have a long long list of issues.
1) despite bleeding over and over, the brakes are still basically non existent. Need to figure that out because it is NOT safe to drive.
2) still have a ping as I drive around. leaning towards ujoins in rear drive shaft, but I thought I replaced those, maybe I didn't I'll have to check. it's rotational and specifically when I'm accelerating, so that's my guess.
3) DEATH WOBBLE. ****ing hell, after driving around the neighborhood, I decided to get some gas, since what is in the tank is at least 18 months old, and nearly empty. coming home I hit 40 miles an hour and about **** my pants. It almost threw me into the curb, saved it and coasted down till it stopped, and entered the neighborhood and kept it under 15mph till I got home. I have to have left something hella loose, but I'll go through the whole font end to try and figure it out. (it's always the track bar...).

it sucks, because it's summer now, so I have to wait till basically the sun is setting to work on it, my garage faces south and my tools in my tool box in the garage get so hot they actually burn my hands, and the car is so hot to touch, so I only have dusk to work on it, which gives me 45min to an hour at most.
