Default AIC's waggy

So to fill the XJ sized hole in my heart, I picked up an 89 Wagoneer.

I'll be posting pictures and videos here, here is my first one:

Oh brother, you are about to start something fun and very challenging. And speaking of challenging, I note that you have some missing trim pieces...those will be very difficult to locate, but I'll keep my eyes peeled around here for some if you let me know which ones you are missing.

Known to-do list:
Full suspension (thinking of a 3.5" lift, that's what I had before, seemed about right, suggestions on kits welcome).
Brakes (seem a bit squishy, so brakebooster on down will probably be replaced).
A/C
Headliner
sun visors
front seats
Tires
interior trim
electrics (lights/speakers/etc)
upgrade cooling system? (bigger radiator or something).
dent removal?
Paint/vinyl repair?

awesome! I do have a lot of missing trim, but I'm not sure if I will actually replace it or just get a vinyl sticker that looks like it has the trim pieces to replace the wood grain that's on there? We'll see, I ordered a headlight surround already for the driver's side since the one that is on there is cracked. and a new dash bezel, since that is cracked as well... I'll make a list tomorrow of all the trim pieces missing. I also need a driver's door handle, or repair the one I have.

Man I want a Wagoneer, until that day comes I will drool over the ones we've got here on the forum. Look forward to the build.

Got my build sheet from Jeep, anybody know what this provides me?

Rubicon X

It's under the optional equipment

Some notable options:
Selec-Trac Full Time 4WD System
Skid Plate Group
Trac-Lok Differential Rear Axle

I was curious so a quick search did not yield much.
Little speculation that it might be what they called the Up Country Suspension but a couple other people disagreed.
They also had a Jeep with that option listed.
Then a couple people saying that it might be the Briarwood Package. The exterior woodgrain.
Be curious to know if you ever find out for sure.

From what I see, all wagoneers had the wood grain, at least I've yet to see a wagoneer without it. I think it has to do with the suspension and skid plates, and stuff, maybe it was a package that included all of that?

I will post videos in this thread of course, but I decided to resurrect an old youtube channel of mine and will be posting videos there:
http://www.youtube.com/c/AICCars

It is not monetized, but my other channel has a lot more to do with computers and product reviews, so decided to post on a more appropriate channel. If you want to follow, please subscribe.

Was at Walmart picking up some other stuff and swung by the cloth isle... found my new headliner:

Moving it from where I laid it out outside to inside, caused wrinkles... but I love how it looks. And I did it myself.

Hey AIS,

Ralph77 sent me this link for a guy parting out an '85 Wagoneer. He just may have some of the trim pieces you need. Worth reaching out

https://fargo.craigslist.org/pts/d/a...178200250.html

Also, several months ago when I was returning from a different trip, I made a detour and picked a few parts off of this Jeep in Athens. I'd offer to go out again, but honestly with my schedule I don't think I'd be able to for long. I'm not sure if this vehicle isn't in the crusher yet, but it's worth reaching out to see if they'll sell you some of the trim pieces that you are missing.

Thank you! I reached out to both. Hopefully they are willing to ship.

AIS,

Not sure if you're already glued it or not, but if you haven't you should try one of those el cheapo amazon upholstery steamers to take out the wrinkles before you glue it. They work wonders.
