Well I did something you never do... look for something to fix...
Who's up for a radiator flush tomorrow morning? This Guy!!
I'm following a thread where a guy used the t-fitting spliced into the top hose method. I found a fair amount of grit when I cut the hose open. From then wealth of knowledge on here, should I go ahead and replace the hoses while i'm at it?

Yes replace the hoses and don't do the t-fitting. Removed the lower radiator hose and the flush forwards, backwards and sideways. And you must and I mean must flush and back flush the heater core. So much grime gets stuck in them.

So I finished the flush today. Noticed my riding temps dropped slightly. Seemed pretty leveled out the whole ride (30 minutes). I wasn't able to replace hoses. Mine weren't in stock at the store. I didn't find a ton of grime, a bit , but not a ton. Rechecked the fluids and all looked good. Once I get a cover/carport built I can take more time. It's just too windy and wet right now.

Forgot to mention I filled about 3 10 gallon buckets of fluid. Got a lid on them and I'll recycle them next week. I was glad to get this done. I'm thinking about my next task... Getting this misfire figured out. I left everything on the table so I have no reason not to do the compression test in the morning. I'll post back my numbers. Here's hoping it's just bad injectors. (Cross fingers)

How's the coolant look? The oil? Any chocolate milk?
Could just be the head basket between those cylinders. You can pull the plugs for both those cylinders do the compression test again and see if you get any air coming out the other cylinder.

I just did the coolant yesterday. It's was brown but not like full if oil brown. It looks fine now. Last oil change was black/brown. I suspect the gasket... Is this something I should attempt in my driveway or wait till I can get a garage bay from a family member...

So not much update. I did however get my switch panel installed in my center console area and wiring harness for it through the firewall. I'll post pics tomorrow. I did a DIY build but it's not too bad looking. First two switches will control killing power to my brake and reverse lights, third controls my OBA, fourth is the aux electric fan override, fifth is the light bar that should be here in the next month and the last one is still waiting in a task. Ideas???
I'll be taking it out on the beach tomorrow to do some surf fishing. Here's hoping this guys doesn't get stuck

My 99 ran fine and overheated and had the head gasket blow between 3 and 4 and I thought oh I'll swap gasket. Well head was bad. Then I start looking at pistons and bore. When you overheat these later 4.0s they will damage the piston and the aluminum piston will transfer onto the lip at the top of the bore and your into a full rebuild at that point. I'd jump on swapping the gasket before you go down that road.
But then again if that happens take the road I did and build a stroker lol
