91 2dr in the works
I wish I had had that mentality when I did the stroker swap... Although I love the idea of helping out a small business like Brown Dog, I think factory rubber would've been better. The polyurethane transfers way more vibes than rubber. Feels like I'm riding in a tank at low RPMs.

Spent 85 bucks on Brown Dogs w/ rubber.... haven't put them in yet, but eventually this is going to be a dedicated trail rig so I wanted something beefier that would hold up to abuse better. Mine is a 92 as well, I get your point about them lasting as long as they did, but the way I figure it is - it lasted for 19 years under normal driving conditions... only took 2.5 years for me to turn them into eraser dust. I'll probably never have to change the brown dogs again.

If I have to replace mounts on a off road vehicle I wouldn't go with factory. I did my sons' XJs' mounts 3 years ago (factory) they are already shot and he only took it wheeling 4 times at best. Why go through all that work and not put in something that will last?

In the 3.5 years of me owning this rig I have put 30,000 miles on it. It sees a trail once every 2 months at best. Gets started every other day at best. Please tell me why spending 10 times what I did was needed? Just the factory replacement adds so much more vibration transmission so a stiffer mount would be even worse. I made my decision based off of what I do with my rig. If it does go out in 3 years, I'll replace with a stock one again. $10 every 3 years and 20 min of work...I'm ok with that.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd have gone with rubber. These polyurethane ones make the whole Jeep shake haha.

Even with the rubber I get rattling of random things. It's like the vibration at idle is the perfect resonance frequency within my jeep. Driving it's not a problem.

You can do with what ever you want to, but the first time I replaced his I also had to replace the exhaust manifold due to the excess flexing from mounts that were shot. I know the cracks are common in the manifold on our rigs but I feel the mounts have a lot to do with it and if I have to live with some extra vibes (which I doubt) it will only ad to the symphony of noise I already have, but to each his own. When I have to replace mine (ASAP) I will go with these.

You get to go wheeling a lot more than either my son or I get to. In fact mine does more sitting around than anything else. I put all my miles on my work truck. You have done almost everything I would like to do to mine. Your half doors are great. I wish I had the time and money to get my 2 dr. up to snuff. I follow threads that usually have the best ideas and rigs going.
I hope you don't think of me as some kind of know it all. It is just working on my sons XJ has me wanting to do things differently when it comes to mine. especially when there is know real need to worry about having it on the road as my daily driver.
