So today was productive. The new carpet, center console, and fire extinguisher are installed. I worked on the front seats so that they actually slid forwards and back since the 97+ seat swap. Got the passenger half door sanded and primed. Tomorrow I should be painting and making the arm rests for it. Here's pics from today and a pic of the driver half door just set into place. Unfortunately I got the wrong color grey for the doors so they will be lighter than the rest of the Jeep. Oh well. I can live with it.

Those doors look really good man... I also like the console - I was thinking about swapping my console for a newer one, but how did you relocate the ebrake handle to accomodate for it being off-center?

I got the ebrake handle out the 98 the console was pulled from. Took some modifying to reuse 92 ebrake cables and stuff. If I were to do it again, I'd just grab the ebrake cable from the XJ the console and stuff came from

Yea. At the time I pulled these parts, it wasn't possible for me to pull the ebrake cable out of the jeep unless I wanted to roll around in the 35 degree mud and water. I'm happy with how it came out, don't get me wrong, but that is just what I would do differently

Since I was literally watching paint dry today, I decided to make an in cab winch control. I had two remotes so I just disassembled one and ran the wires to the dash. I then installed a spring loaded switch. It returns to it's neutral state as soon as you let go of it. Got it in and working. Turn it left, winch runs line in. Turn it right, winch runs lines out. Mounted the switch in the blank space to the right of the cluster. Still gotta make some labels for it just to remind myself which way to turn it

Yea this goes straight from the solenoid pack to the switch. The switch is from the tear down of an old machine where i used to work. They were scrapping the while thing so they told me i could take what i wanted

So my spring break is over now and classes are back in full force. I did get the passenger door done. The door was heavily damaged when I got it so not all of the dents are fixed and you can definitely see the major ones because no amount of bondo would cover them. So now both doors are done except for the hinges. I still need to grab those off a junk yard rig. Only thing stopping me is the lack of battery powered power tools to go cut them off. I was able to get one by punching out the pin. Just got 3 more to go.

Now with those doors done in a lighter shade of grey, the arm rests in and even lighter shade of grey, and the clear coat feeling and showing different shades all the way around, I think I've come up with a name for this project.
What do yall think of "50 shades of grey"...?
I've never read to the book nor do I really care to since reading really isn't my thing but I think it's a catchy title for this rig.

Those doors look great and i think the name is perfect. you should do the lower half of the doors a dark grey so it's even more of a reason for the name. even better do some grey camo.... i know.... to far.
