what do you do with the door wires when you take the doors off? I'm about to do the doorless mod and can't think of what to do with them. Any help is appreciated!

Well when you take the doors off there are 3 plugs on the drivers side and 4 plugs on the passenger side. Both of which are easy to get to. I leave 2 bolts out of the kick panel so that I can remove it easily. You remove the kick panel on both sides and undo those wires. The wires come out with the door so all you do Is put the kick panel back on and everythijg is concealed. What I did was I cut the little retaining tabs off of the connectors to make plugging them in and taking them out a lot easier

Today felt like 3 days packed into one. I had so much side work crammed in but i made some good $$$ for the jeep. Even Got to meet a local forum member and check out his jeep!
Big day tomorrow! Let the cooling upgrades begin! Here is tomorrows list..
*Flush coolant
*Install 160deg Thermostat/New Gasket
*Install ZJ fan clutch
*Install Goodyear gatorback belt ( Picked one up today on my way home)
**Time Permitting**
*Install high idle switch
This xj isnt going to be sweating in traffic/red lights anymore! The jeep wasnt overheating but at a stop light or in heavy traffic it would start to creep past 210 but then the aux fan would kick in and cool it down. But still, i want it to run nice and cool. Especially when its super hot and im out wheeling, I havent taken it out in a while because of this but after tomorrow we will be good to go. Ill have the 160deg tstat to open to system sooner, the zj clutch will have that fan pushing air like never before and if i really need it while at a stop ill have the high idle switch to kick to the cooling sytem into high gear. Who knows when the coolant was flushed last so thats always a smart choice. Plus it will be nice to actually choose my coolant to water ratio.

I'm gonna order some of the extra wide fan nozzles from dipyourride.com and see what other kind of trouble I can get into.

You have made me a convert. I did everything above the upper bodyline on my XJ a couple weeks ago and it totally rocked.

great progress NJXJ. Ur gonna hate that 160 stat in the winter time...lol
You will have no heat.
Also the problem with running such a low temp stat is that the motor will be searching between open and closed loop and never reaching its designed temp setting. You will possibly burn more fuel because of this. You could run super to help offset the fuel issue, but the
"OVER COOLING" will still be a problem.
Most vehicles that run performance stats have a chip that will fool the cpu into closed loop, and "REQUIRING" to run super.
Now I am speaking from experience with doing this in mustangs and vettes, so I really don't know how the 4.0 will act. But I just wanted you to be well informed and know what to look out for.
please let me know how you make out with this.
Jay.
