Do you have the 231 or 242 t case? The 242 hangs low as hell to start with..a to drop makes it stupid low. I am going to buy a hnt ASAP to get rid of my drop. Then I'm going to look into clocking my case

The shims are (from my understanding) for when you have a sye..when you run an sye and a cv shaft your pinion should be pointed at the t case output...that's where the shims come in. With a regular non cv shaft the rear pinion and t case output should be parallel.

That's not bad at all actually. I'll have to do some more research. I definitely need to take care of it though. For 100 bucks that's something to definitely consider. I haven't even looked at what the tc brackets are but im sure it's close to that. For a piece of steel you can make in 10 mins lol.

So here is the plan right now. Number one on the list is to get these driveline vibs taken care of. Number two on the list is to get rims and tires. The guy selling those Wagon wheels emailed me back. But after closer inspection of the pics on the cl add, I noticed that one rim looked like it had a bigger lip than the rest. Which he then told me that one was a mismatch. Which ain't happening. Two is to upgrade everything in the front end, then get it aligned. It needs it now but I figure if I'm going to be messing with it more there is no point..

I had the RC tcase drop, but never installed it. Gave it to a fellow member for a temp fix, who gave it to another member and passed it on to about 4 or 5 other XJs lol. The drops are around $30 online. Don't need a fancy one if you're removing it later, or just get a bunch of washers and longer bolts.

So tomorrow if it isn't raining I have some things on the agenda. Tgif! I'm going to get the rear quarters and rockers plasti dipped, replace the front diff breather and replace my rear u joint. And while I'm at it I'm going to make myself a t case drop with some 1" steel. Again.. If it doesn't rain.
Also..met a really cool guy who bought the fender flares and brackets I took off of my jeep. He is the same person who bought my front plastics too. I'm going to be doing a lot of work to his xj he just picked up. He just happens to have baja claws with 65% tread in storage because he opted for 31's and I'm going to do his heater core In trade for the tires which is sweet. And a boat load of other things that his rig needs. Jeeper helping fellow jeeper. Any money's I make working on his rig will be redirected into mine so I'm pretty excited about that. I'm always happy to work on a jeep. It's a nice change from a greyhound bus.

Also my good friend Dave who is a big subi guy recently was given a 96 xj with 112k. It was In flood waters halfway up the tires and has a lot of rust in the floors. It's a shame because it runs really well the drive train is perfect. He had been doing routine maintenance on it for the owner for a while now . But the work it needs now to bounce back into action is too much so he handed the title over to him. But we're going to work it out and I'm going to get it from him. Still haven't decided exactly what I'm going to do with it... But I'm leaning towards building the motor as a spare.
