So the other day I got some mcguard wheel locks for free so I figured why not.. And it's free security for when I toss my rims and tires on the jeep.
I had the pleasure of working on an old high school friends 97 grand Cherokee yesterday. Called me up out of the blue and said he heard I had become a diesel mechanic at greyhound and that his jeep had some issues. After replacing the crank sensor I determined his pcm was the culprit (wouldn't communicate) and replaced it. Good as new.
Man that crank sensor was a PITA on that 5.2 I actually took videos with my phone in the spot where it was and I would work like that. Since I couldn't see where anything was. I had to do the whole job by feel.

So this weekend(Mon tues) I will be hitting the junkyard again. Just to check to see if anything new is out there. I pretty much pick up anything that is hard to find for these XJ's.
I'm going to be doing my doorless mod. Which I will cover extensively. I wish I had some more $$$$$$$ bc there is plenty of stuff I'd like to get done. I'm going to do a few more things this weekend but we will keep them as a surprise for now.
To the person who asked where I go. Shortys auto parts. Black horse Pike, NJ. Sometime I go to dirks but shortys is where I have gotten lucky enough to find all of the more rare and sought after stuff. Like an old stacked headlight Wagoner. Took the whole front facia for 30 bucks. I'm thinking about swapping it onto my 2000 but idk. I kinda like the 2000 front end. I'm not particularly keen over the 95 front end so maybe I'll toss it on my dad's.

I brought my little pancake compressor home today.. I'm going to go at the axles and steering components with my whiz wheel and get them cleaned up and painted. Hopefully it's not too cold tomorrow. I'll take some before and after pics.
But first in the morning I have to go get a stripped lug off of a 2000 dodge neon. Yeah this dude isn't the "sharpest knife in the drawer". Lol never seen someone get as many flat tires. Haha. But hey, it's gas money.. And we all know that l6 is thirsty.

Well the rain has spoiled my plans for the day. And yesterday I got a call to get a stud off a dodge neon that was "stripped". So I'm thinking I'll be able to beat a smaller socket on it and be good to go? Nope. This thing was destroyed. And on top of that I ask for the money and I'm told he didn't have any money. This is someone who I used to work with. Live and learn I guess.

Clean looking jeep I like it. I live in Linwood I've seen you around a few times you passed me on my street the other day. We should go out in the woods one day, my buddies and I try and go every weekend.

Haha yeah my girlfriend lives in linwood. I think I passed you like last week. I remember seeing your jeep. You've probably seen my 95 too. Black 3" lift cragars, side mount and roof mount antennas with KC's on the hood like my 2000. Still have it but my dad drives it. It's funny how much he hated it bc it was loud and whatnot. He borrowed it from me when his truck broke down and ended up buying it from me. Originally Posted by surfingg19

I'm definitely down to go out. I have my lift ready to go on and some other things just need to find time. I will for sure have it done before Christmas. Don't want it to get to cold when I have to do it that's for sure. I have a couple friends that would come too. Another xj and a YJ. You probably have seen them too. The xj is white, 4.5 inch lift and an American flag on his cb antenna and the yj is green lifted with KC's and a winch. Both rear shocks are broken it drives like a boat. Haha.

I used to take my 95 out to Indian cabin Rd there are some cool trails and pits back there. Just have to be careful not to run over any idiots on atv's. Lol I used to go behind the shore mall in EHT and a bunch of random places in port Republic. All in South Jersey.Originally Posted by NJXJ

The good news: Waxed the ishhh out of my truck today! And made 50 bucks doing some swaybar bushings for a friend.
The bad news: Got into an accident on the way home! FMLFMLFMLFML. Bumper is worked, fender is ehh.. not too bad. Got lucky if you ask me. But thanks to the great state of new jersey if you rear end someone REGARDLESS of how it happened its your fault. So thank you new jersey for that. Im pretty pissed right now.. but what can you do.
The bottom line: Guess ill be building my bumper sooner than i had originally planned. so i guess its not really a big deal. We all know the factory plastics were coming off. And knowing me id be cutting those fenders soon anyhow. So im going to look at it as motivation. Pics coming up in the morning.

I want to make some simple bumpers with some rectangular stock, with a couple d shackles. Simple. If anyone could point me to a write up it would be much appreciated. Im going to see if i can find a good one in the meantime.
Cant get over how flimsy those stock bumpers are. That thing folded like a taco.

Same goes for some rock sliders out of the rectangle stock. I've been digging for some write ups and haven't found any? For the bumpers either.

I knew of a couple from a while back that were on here. I'll send them your way either here or through facebook once I find them.
So here is the damage fellas. Can't believe I'm working on this thing outside in ocean city in DECEMBER with only my work uniform. No jacket. Haha..
