So while driving to work this morning I was thinking about future mods to the heep. Like always. Lol.

I mentioned a few posts bakv about wanting to paint the rear quarter/rockers and what to use to do so. Duh! I'm going to use plasti-dip. They sell it in a rattle can. Here is the great thing about it. If I don't want it on there anymore it peels off. So it will keep the paint shiny underneath. And I achieve the look I want. The best of both worlds. Don't know why I didn't think of that sooner.

And for those thinking "it will peel or get damaged"... It's pretty tough stuff. And that's another plus. Say it does get chipped or peel, you just peel it off and put a new coat on. Not like normal paint, once that's on its permanent. That's why I like the plasti dip.

Nothing new to the jeep today. But I did find a pic I took of my 95 over the summer. So I figured I'd share it.

As you can see some of the mods on my 2000 are mods I've done in the past. Only now I actually know what I'm doing. Lol

Do you get any glare with the lights mounted on your hood?

Not really actually. I think since they are on the hood pointed straight it makes it a little bit better. Bc my buddy has a yj and he has the pillar mounts and it's got some super glare. I guess since they are pointed downward it makes the glare worse. He complains about it all the time.

I had some roof mounted lights on my last vehicle, 06 Xterra, and I had a flat black decal made to cover the center of the hood and reduce glare.

That's a pretty good idea. I'll pass that along

Yeah I figured that was where you went that place is great. I don't even know of any other place around here to get it. And your right they have good prices and they will cut or do anything you need. I got my hitch reciever there for 20 bucks. Lol

What did you use to make that? 5x2?

Is the red jeep yours too? Or is that your gf's?

That's awesome I really like that bumper looks like you did a nice job on it.

6x2 looks like the way to go. How much lift is your truck on? My 95 was 3 with 31's I thought it was perfect. I got stuck alot less than ppl that were bigger so I was happy with it. I was thinking about running 33s on mine too but the 31's really let it flex nice.

Thank you. I've put about 6 hours into it so far. I have 4.5 inches of lift right now and my fenders are pretty cut open. Ill be cutting the rears more. Ill also be going to long arms I'm getting them from a buddy that's doing a d44 swap. He is also giving me his front axle that has 4.56s in it so I'm going to set up the 8.8 that I just got with the same gears. Probably going to run the 8.8 welded and do an Aussie locker in the front. Going to put in an sye while I'm at it too. Then I'm going to get 33 bf km2s. I think I'll be alright stuffing them in there. And maybe down the road ill add shackle relocation brackets and a spacer which will take me to 6 inch. And I also forgot to mention I'm going to add rustys over the knuckle one ton steering but that's pricy so that will probably be last

That sounds awesome dude. If you ever need a hand let me know I have a spot with a lift and every tool you may need. And esp important... Heat!

I'll be honest I've gotten nothing done lately. Having to juggle work and keeping the old lady happy has been fun. And on top of that Damn its cold in ocean city! Come hell or high water I'm debadging/depinstriping, and cutting my fenders this weekend. Idk bout you fellas but I hate the stock flares. XJ's look a million times better with cut ones so I can't wait to cut them up. But that's just my opinion.

I think my gf is getting me a roof rack for Christmas so I'm excited for that. That or a lift. Since the one I have now is old and probably beat. (which is honestly why I have been holding off. Might as well save and get what I want.)

The funny thing about this jeep is it rides so good..not a single problem. The total opposite of my 95. I know when I go to start it it will fire up. That's why I'm in love with this truck so much more than the 95. I do miss the extra leg room the 95 had though.

Is it just me or do some 97-01 XJ's have more leg room than others? My buddies 00 is so much tighter than mine. Maybe it just seems that way. I'm a pretty big guy tho 6'5 240 and I fit in mine no problem. His is a little cramped. Lol
