Its not a whole lot more than stock TREs. I think I paid $60 at autozone for both V8 zj tie rod ends and the adjusting sleeve.

Anyone have any suggestion on how to get the adjustable sleeve off the tie rod so I can replace it? Or should I just get a new sleeve and tie rod for the pitman arm?

You should be able to disconnect it from the pitman arm than unscrew the pitman arm out of the adjustment sleeve. Is it just seized up? I've used a screw driver wedged in there to spin it before.

Well the tie rod on the pit man arm side is spinning loose but the other side won't budge. I was thinking just replace the entire bar and maybe even go with something a little more rugged for the steering. Esp since I blew my steering stabilizer I figure ill replace everything and maybe even go ahead and upgrade it all

Ah, I see.

Screwdriver should work, take the clamps (if you haven't already) completely off. Wedge the screwdriver in there and turn. It should pull the sleeve up off the threads enough to get it moving.

As far as upgrading goes. If you're sticking with 31s you could get by with stock drag link, and then use the V8 zj tie rod (the stock xj rod is sooo weak the v8 zj rod is solid like the xj drag link). Other steering upgrades will definitely cost more and might be "overkill" for now.

The part #s are in the thread as well.

Make sure you get them for a V8 zj. V8! Otherwise you will get same as stock xj parts. Lol

I doubt there's a difference.

You could get one of the aftermarket "HD" ones. They're usually about $30-40. I know 4wheelparts stocks them.

I'd just go with stock. Only good thing about the "HD" ones is they look bigger.

Yea I've replaced a stabilizer with 200k plus with an "HD" one (slightly used) no difference. And that was on an otherwise stock XJ suspensions.

So tie rods and the adjustable sleeve to a v8 zj. Anything else I should change out to the v8 zj?
