Default 2000 xj f150 or f250 rears

Hi I'm new with this I got a 2000 xj and i got a 78 ford f150 complete truck and i got 76 ford f250 rears laying around I think it's a 44 front n 60 rear I'm wondering what would be easier to put under it? and what kind of lift?

Well, first of all the 78 f150 will probably have cast radius arm wedges on the front axle (d44) and a 9" rear. I could be wrong but, I'm pretty sure 78's have cast mounts. That would be fine if you plan on using for style radius arms or re-tubing the whole axle. The 76 f250 should have a 44 front and 60 rear but, you said that you only have the f250 rear axles so you would need to find the matching front axle to keep it 8 lug. With all that being said, with axle swaps like these, they can be VERY expensive and a lot of the time, unnecessary. The first thing you need to do is, address the fact that your XJ is a 2000 so it has the 0331 head. Get yourself a Tupy head for the reliability and peace of mind. Then, decide what type of wheeling you're going to do and what size tires you want to run. Those will be the major factor. 35's and smaller on a light rig that isn't being killed every day? A well built 30/8.8 combo would just fine. 36"+ and beating the snot out of it all the time? Upgrade axles but, be prepared to shell out $$ for that. As far as what lift to get, there are tons of good companies out there, just search for reviews on them.
