Ok so i finally got the tubes ground down and cleaned up, however there was a spot on the passenger side of the axle that had a sticker, upon removing the sticker i found an area of pitting from rust, its only on the top side of the tube and the deepest point is about a 16th of an inch . . should i be worried? fill it in with weld and grind it smooth? truss the axle? heres some pics of the issue spot and the tubes cleaned up . .
The area in question

The welds ground down . . the pitting doesnt look as bad with the welds smoothed out

After running a flap disk over the tubes

Well its been about a month now being jeepless, but yesterday i changed that! picked up a 1998 XJ with 200k for $600
its been about 6 years since ive owned an XJ and this one is gonna need some work but im looking forward to building it!!
Here's some quick pics i got of it, i washed it and threw on some spare rims and tires on it for now. It was disgusting when i picked it up, sat for over a year but surprisingly a quick wash and she looks great!

The damage actually isnt that bad at all, the bumper is obviously wasted and the header panel is cracked and has seen better days . . i already pulled the bumper off and going to source a new one from the junkyard as well as a new header panel, im hoping i can find one the same color
